You're invited to the Inaugural "Centering Joy in Black Birthing Experience" Conference!
Black Maternal Health Week, observed April 11-17 during Minority Health Month, was started in 2018 by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance to raise awareness of maternal health disparities and help improve Black maternal health outcomes. Although there is great work in progress to improve regional Black maternal health outcomes, there is still much to be done in order to make birth safer and more satisfying for Black birthing families.
We not only want to acknowledge the great work being done in our region, but also hold space for health organizations and community members to unite across sectors to celebrate Black Joy in Birth as well as discuss innovative solutions to collectively address our region’s crisis. For this, the National Black Nurses Association is partnering with the St. Louis Integrated Health Network in collaboration with a coalition of community organizations to bring this maternal health conference to the Greater St. Louis Area.
We would like to thank our sponsors, BJC Healthcare, Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative, SSM Health, and Mercy Hospital for their support.
This will be a transformative event celebrating Black birthing experiences and driving positive change in maternal healthcare. You won't want to miss it!
