A: Death, taxes, and Monarch’s annual night of internationally themed trivia.
Q: What are certainties in life in order of least to most fun?

Join us for our 7th Annual Trivia Night of internationally themed trivia – at this point, it’s an institution! MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Saturday, November 1 at Webster Groves Masonic Temple (12 E Lockwood Ave, St. Louis, MO 63119). Doors open at 6; trivia begins promptly at 7.

We’ll have all the usual trivia night shenanigans (mulligans, 50-50 raffle, cash prizes, and some variant of “dead or alive”) as well as a silent auction full of fabulous items to help you complete your holiday shopping well before Thanksgiving. Free beer, wine, and soft drinks will be available. Tables of 8 can be purchased for $240. Or buy single tickets for $40 and make new friends with other trivia fans at a combined table.

ALL proceeds go to direct mental health, social, and legal services for vulnerable immigrant and refugee populations in the St. Louis area.

Still illegal. Still inhumane. Still ineffective for interrogation. Still a war crime.

June 26 is the United Nations Day in Support of Victims of Torture. With war crimes and torture becoming defining elements of conflicts across the globe, it’s important to amplify that these acts are still fundamentally wrong and illegal. While we hope for legal reckonings for the actors, we stand in solidarity with the survivors and renew our commitment to helping them heal and centering their experience at the core of our efforts in the St. Louis area and through our national and international networks.

Today is the first week as Monarch Immigrant Services without Alicia in the Assistant Director's office. For the last 2.5 years, Alicia Delaney-Clayton has kept the organization running and was a (if not "the") catalyst for all the major transitions during that time: the move to the Grove, the rebrand to Monarch, overhauling our HR, and improving our workplace culture. It's difficult to imagine where we would be without all her efforts.

We wish her all the best at her new HR position at Purina and have every intention of keeping her close to the agency. Thank you, Alicia!!

Nothing to see here. Just a group of former Afghan refugees running food deliveries to elderly tornado victims in North City. Afghan Services Coordinator Haroon Safi heeded the call from the City's Office of New Americans and St. Louis Area Agency on Aging to get food to homebound senior clients of Wesley House Association last Friday.
