We had a wonderful morning of entertainment with a Dean Martin impersonator. He performed all the classic Dean Martin songs, and everyone enjoyed singing along with him to the great hits Dean made famous. It was a truly fun and memorable experience!

Meet Lila, one of the wonderful servers at Atria La Residence Steger. She brings more than just meals – she brings joy to every table she visits!

With Atria since 2021, Lila is always in a great mood and shares a special bond with residents. "You can always count on Lila for a smile and help. What a ray of sunshine," shares Wendy, one of the residents. Her kindness and bright smile make every mealtime feel like a moment of happiness.

What a Wonderful Tuesday Morning!

We had a wonderful outing today — what a great way to start off our Tuesday! Breakfast at Denny’s was delicious, and the conversation even better. It’s always a joy spending time with friends and enjoying each other’s company.

We were having such a good time, we decided to treat ourselves to some ice cream from Baskin-Robbins on the way home. It was the perfect sweet ending to a perfect outing.

We’re so full, we might even skip supper tonight! Grateful for good food, good friends, and such a beautiful day. 😊

We had a Casino Royale — a casino-themed party!
The residents played great games of poker and blackjack. Jim Cox was there and entertained us with his amazing music.

We enjoyed delicious food and had a fantastic time with the casino games and live music by Jim.

Our appetizers included:

Meatballs
"The Jackpot" Mocktail
Sparkling Cider
Chilled Flat and Sparkling Water

Just a few days after moving in, and Kathleen and Arvin are already cutting a rug at Holiday Thornton Place!

Arvin was hesitant to make the move, but he quickly changed his tune. "I love the camaraderie here, the food and all of the people," he shares.

Kjell’s passion is woodworking. ⚒️

Originally from Norway, he came to the U.S. at just 15 and built a life in Seattle. After retiring, he and his wife Marilyn moved into a cottage at Holiday Hidden Lakes to be closer to family.

From piggy banks for his 24 great-grandchildren to handcrafted pens, clocks and birdhouses, Kjell is still an active craftsman. The workshop he set up in the cottage's garage is his happy place, and he’s even made hundreds of small wooden crosses for the community chaplain to share.

Marilyn says, “He’s always happiest in his shop." And with his talent and dedication, it’s easy to see why.

We’re proud to celebrate Bobby, a recent high school graduate who has been part of the Holiday Country Squire waitstaff team since age 15. He's heading off to study nursing at Missouri Western State University.

"One of my favorite parts about working at Country Squire has been having meaningful conversations with our General Manager," Bobby shares. He says these conversations have helped shape his goals for the future.

"He's a wonderful young man who we love," shares Shirley, one of the community's residents. With plans to become a traveling nurse, Bobby is set to make a difference while seeing the world.

Barbara said “yes to the address” at Holiday Country Squire! 🏡

A lover of walks, reading and opera music, she finds joy in life's little pleasures. "Nothing beats a glass of sweet iced tea," she laughs. Born and raised in Kansas, she's excited to live closer to her family.

Happy Birthday, Marie!🍦

Holiday Pinegate celebrated the 83rd birthday of one of their fabulous Resident Ambassadors with an ice cream social! Residents, friends, neighbors and family enjoyed sweet toppings galore and joined in a game of “How Well Do You Know Marie?” trivia.

"I want to share a huge 'thank you' to everyone who made the day so special," shares Marie. "I'm so glad you all celebrated with me. It was the best birthday I ever had."

Residents at Holiday Quail Run Estates created their own living masterpieces, nesting succulents into layers of soil, sand and rock to make terrariums. "The residents had fun making them," shares Melissa, the community's Engage Life Coordinator.

Grandparents' Day was extra special this year! Leading up to the celebration, grandchildren dropped off their favorite “stuffies” to stay with residents for the week. The stuffed friends joined in on fitness classes, book clubs and even community outings – and we captured it all in photos to share with their grandchildren.

On Grandparents' Day itself, families reunited for Muffins with Grands, picked up their stuffies and keepsake photo booklets, played backyard games and ended the day with popcorn and a movie together.

It was a celebration of the love, laughter and the impact grandparents have on their families.

We celebrated Grandparent’s Day with a petting zoo, lemonade and ice cream. We were blessed with perfect weather, and Cowboy Critters was a hit with the kiddos and adults alike!

The residents went on a tour today at the Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company, an award-winning, second-generation chocolate company. It’s a fantastic chocolate factory! Co-founders Dan and Rosalie are joined by their three children—Christina, Dan Jr., and Christopher. At the heart of the company is a family of candy makers who work alongside a talented staff of artisan chocolatiers, with over 100 years of combined confectionery experience.

Original recipes from the turn of the century are slowly cooked in copper kettles and stirred by hand. The chocolates are hand-decorated one by one, with precise attention to detail. It was amazing to see how they make all the different kinds of candy.

Orchid Terrace has the BEST shuttle bus driver, Tom Guy! Today, he took some of our residents to the Lemp Mansion for their Sunday family-style Fried Chicken lunch! They really enjoyed it, and had a wonderful time! Definitely going again!

It was a sweet experience touring Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate! A local chocolate factory right here in St. Louis. They didn’t find W***y Wonka, but they did get some delicious chocolate treats!

We had a great afternoon playing balloon volleyball. We enjoyed listening to 1950s hard rock and roll. It was so much fun, and we really enjoyed the music, singing, and playing volleyball. It was a great day. The residents are very competitive, and it was exciting to compete against one another.

Our culinary team treated our residents with A Taste of a France today. For lunch, they had Coq Au Vin, Goat Cheese & Spinach Salad, Macarons and Lemon Lavender cookies!

We had a wonderful, creative day. The ladies wanted to decorate matching hats together for the next tea party. We had great conversations as we worked on the decorations. Two of our residents are 100 and 102 years old, and I love hearing the stories they share about their lives. I feel so lucky to have met these ladies—they come from all walks of life. I truly enjoy listening to their stories, from growing up in the 1930s to the present day. It’s such a joy to hear them. Look at these beautiful hats the ladies made!
