Captain Jack's Fight for a Cure

💜Jack Update💜

Today was 9 days at Cardinal Glennon. He looks good and feels good, but his lung function isn't improving like we'd hoped. He had a bronchoscopy on Tuesday and there is nothing major growing, another x-ray yesterday, but I'm not quite sure how to interpret the results (his doctor didn't come by today.) I asked his nurse to weigh him and he was up a few pounds so that's good.

Infectious Disease is getting involved to send a sample off somewhere (can't remember where) to see if there is something else growing that isn't being picked up at our labs so they can target the infection with different meds.

While our Thanksgiving was different this year, I am grateful for the amazing staff at Cardinal Glennon for being here with us and taking great care of Jack. We still managed to see a lot of family over the last few days and we are so thankful for that.

We are hopeful Jack continues to improve and his lung function responds to the meds so we can get out of here in the next couple days.

Jack’s Aunt Anne gave him his bday present early! 1) this quilt is so incredibly beautiful and special, and 2) thanking God and all of our prayer warriors who gave him the miracle he needed to heal and live a “normal” life!
