“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

MLK Day isn't just about remembrance; it's a call to action. This statue in Fountain Park reminds us that service is how justice takes shape in everyday life.

Dr. King believed justice is built through dignity, compassion, and care for one another. On this MLK Day of Service, we honor his legacy by continuing that work, right here in our community, alongside our neighbors.

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, honoring Mary’s humble “yes” and her central role in God’s plan of salvation.

As we begin the new year, may we look to Mary as a model of faith, trust, and loving service, carrying Christ into the world through our words, actions, and care for one another.

May her example guide us as we continue our mission of compassion and hope for those most in need.

Mother Mary, please pray for us!

The angels told the shepherds the Messiah was born, and where to find Him.
So how are we told today?

In the smile of another. In a generous offer. In a plea for help. In the cry of the poor and oppressed. In a child needing reassurance. In an elder needing a listening heart. In a neighbor who needs a consoling hand.

The mystery of Christmas is that God comes close. Emmanuel, God with us, is working through and among us.

(Inspired by Fr. Dan, our chaplain.)

This Thanksgiving, we pause to give thanks.

We’re thankful for the neighbors we serve and the community that supports our mission of care and compassion.

As we walk alongside our sisters and brothers throughout the year, we’re reminded how much hope can grow when we take the journey together.

From all of us at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.

Our Story

Since its founding in 1985, Queen of Peace Center (QOPC) has been providing family-centered behavioral healthcare for women, children and families. As a member of the Federation of Catholic Charities, we serve the metropolitan and surrounding St. Louis area through four core programs: prevention, education, treatment and housing.

Our unique comprehensive model addresses the full continuum of needs for families impacted by substance use, co-occurring disorders and trauma. We are dedicated to providing services that give women and children the best chance for success by offering quality treatment; helping them meet their physical, psychological, emotional and social needs; and making our services as safe, convenient, and accessible as possible.

Queen of Peace Center envisions a world where women, children and families live a life of recovery and wellness, free from trauma and substance use disorders.
