If you’ve recently started new medications (for anxiety, depression, muscle relaxation, pain, or sleep), please let your licensed massage therapist know — especially if you’re using FIR (far-infrared) sauna or heat-based therapies.
Why this matters (facts):
• Heat can enhance medication side effects
• Common effects include increased sleepiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or fatigue
• FIR sauna increases circulation and core temperature, which may intensify how some meds are absorbed or felt
• Staying hydrated and adjusting session intensity is important for safety
