[04/13/20]   Accommodation not confrontation: dementia is a brain disorder that shapes the behavior of a person. The person isn’t doing what they are doing on purpose. The best plan of action is to learn how to accommodate, or work with, the behavior. For example, if the person insists on pacing and walking around the house, accommodate their need to move by going on a walk outside instead of confronting them and insisting they sit back down.
