your therapist won't ...
attempt to 'fix' you, tell you what to do or give direct advice
be disappointed in you
judge, pressure, or shame you
push their values or beliefs on you
agree with everything
enable self-destructive behaviors without progress
be your friend or connect personally on social media

your therapist will ...
acknowledge that you're the expert of your own experiences
guide you to find the answers and solutions you need
teach you new skills that you can apply to your everyday life
sometimes gently call you out - but without judgment
balance therapy being teamwork and an active process of holding safe space for you
