💜🌺 Attention All Aspiring Virtuous Doulas! It’s Time to Recertify and Refresh Your Skills! 🌺💜

We’re excited to announce our updated Virtuous Doula Recertification Program—designed to keep you at the forefront of maternal care. 🌟 As part of our commitment to excellence, we’re introducing a mandatory Doula Refresher Course as part of our upgraded recertification program. This course is mandatory for all new applicants and our 8-week graduates. We want to ensure all Virtuous Doulas stay up-to-date with the latest in doula care, client support, and professional standards.

We have 2 scheduled dates: (16 hours on length)

November 30 - December 1, 2024 @ 9a-5p both days

December 14 - December 15, 2024 @ -5p both days

Investment: $1000

Cost includes all materials, breakfast, lunch, CPR, HIPAA, and Cultural Competency Training.

Y'all...

Virtuously B'Earthed Doula Services is 6!!

Soooooooooo much has happened in 6 years:

💜 Served 75+ families with doula support, even though I have a child with special needs.
💜 Conducted several classes (Placenta Encapsulation Tranings through Woman's Choice Perinatal Services, CPR, Safe Sleep...) that benefitted both doulas and additional families that weren't doula clients.
💜 Began teaching medical school students at St. Louis University alongside Carmen Southall-Wamhoff back in 2018. We've taught about 70 1st year medical students about doulas and what we do.
💜Became Chair of St. Louis Doula Project
💜 Started the Virtuous Doula Training back I'm 2021. We've had over 150 people apply...the wait list is embarrassingly long...lol...but we've trained over 60 doulas through the program.
💜 Became a member of the Missouri Momnibus Steering Committee
💜 Gained a grant through both the State of Missouri and Healthy Blue, MO to support the training.
💜 Formed Virtuous Doula Training Academy in January
💜 Was able to gain an office space and hire an executive assistant (Jairus Williams)
💜 Won my first award in 2022 from Generate Health STL
💜 Partnerships with BJC, SSM, Missouri Hospital Association, St. Louis Doula Project
💜 14 of my fellow CHW friends, Doula Sisters, and my fiancé assist with my training as co-facilitators Tony Deon Alyssa Michelle Studentmidwife Bean Vella Ying-Clayburne Netta Ward Candice Renai Lakenia Mahdi Jasmine Westfall - Doula Messcina Jessica AK Iwuji Asia Jacobs Carlotta Burton, Robin Lloyd, and others have supported by volunteering at our comfort measures sessions!! Jasmine M Miller De'Andre L. Miller Branicia Donte'nae to be specific
💜 My doula training manual was translated into Spanish by Thalia Ruiz
💜 We just received additional funding from BCBS Illinois to expand into the maternal health deserts in IL
💜 The training is almost ready to be delivered to other communities who speak Arabic, French, and Somali
💜 I've officially hung up my doula support hat to continue training doulas not just in Missouri, but across the US. We have trained doulas who live in TN, FL, MI, AL, NJ, and OK
💜 Forming a budding relationship with The Doula Lab in IL
💜 Presented for nurses at Missouri Nurses Association (MONA), The Uplift Connection, The Black Maternal Health Conference, sat on panels at SSM, the Black Rep...and will be presenting at a Birthworker Forum for Region 7 HRSA next week!

There's so much more I've probably missed...

I'm so excited to be participating in STL Fringe Fest for the first time!! Grateful to for her connections and putting me in rooms I never thought possible. I will be at the High Low this Friday, August 16th for The Appointment, a show by Lena Gilbert and following, will be a panelist for Q&A! Please come out if you can! 💜🫶🏾💜
