Emotions have a surprising power over our bodies. When we feel anxiety, anger, or sadness, the body responds with tension and discomfort, and over time, this accumulated tension can lead to chronic pain.
Yoga is one of the most effective ways to release these emotional blockages and restore the balance the body needs.
Beyond physical improvement, it helps reconnect mind and body, bringing calm and self-awareness.

Kaiut Yoga Instructor

While I have enjoyed yoga on and off for the last 20 years I have never kept a consistent practice lasting for more than a year or two, let alone had any intention of teaching it. During one of our trips to Colorado a few years ago I discovered Kaiut yoga. This discovery changed everything. I realized after classes that I felt like my body and mind were being unwound. My prior yoga experience had always included thoughts about “how did my downward dog look? Did my body contort and stretch in the right way, the same way that everyone else’s did?“ In a Kaiut class, on the floor, holding simple poses from the joints with my eyes closed I started to take those outward thoughts inward. I realized that not only was my body not like anyone else’s, my right hip wasn’t even like my left hip! I felt like an inner grip that tightened with every bit of tension from life was loosening it’s hold and opening up. I only had one problem: there were no Kaiut classes in St. Louis. I am now a KYM 400 Level 1 certified Kaiut Yoga Instructor offering weekly classes in Webster Groves!
