One of our members, Jessica Idelman, took it upon herself to create the Missouri Nutrition Alliance, a group that would work on legitimizing the discipline of health coaching in Missouri!  That is no easy feat and it’s been years in the making but she got it done!  congrats

Gratitude moment.

Yesterday, I watched the Missouri House vote on a bill to expand choice and allow credentialed nutrition professionals the ability to practice to our level of training.

This has been a three-year labor of love and a small, but mighty and persistent advocacy team, one I’ve been working with for these past years. Our trips to Jefferson City, talking with (so many) lawmakers and providing testimony, even in snow and ice, provided a way in. Grateful for those five strong women. There were moments of frustration and tears, but we persevered. ❤️

What was once a misdemeanor, will now open up possibilities for us to share our experience, training and passion for real food with those in our state.

I am grateful to our legislators. Rep Grier was able to work with both sides of the House and Senate to get a unanimous bipartisan vote! We may not always agree on political stances, but when we can work together for the health and wellness of the people, beautiful things can happen.

We still have to wait for the governor to sign the bill, but it will go in effect on 8/1/21. 🎉
