Affton Veterinary Clinic

We provide Quality Medicine and Compassionate Care.

Our goal is to always treat your pet as if it were our own. We will always provide the best possible care available. If we are unable to provide the care your pet needs, we will either bring a specialist in or refer you out to a specialist who can. We pride ourselves on being able to provide the advanced medicine of a large practice though maintaining the compassion you can only find at a small practice. Come see us today!

[07/20/20]   Delayed update but we are all back to normal!! Thanks for your understanding!

We are currently experiencing issues with our telephones and internal server, thus we cannot currently receive phone calls or emails. Our IT service is working diligently to have everything back running as soon as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience at this time.

If your pet is experiencing an emergency, you can contact us on our after-hour emergency line at 314-330-0112. Please leave a voicemail if we cannot readily receive your call and we will call you back as soon as possible.

We will keep you updated as to when everything is back to normal function! Have a good Monday!

It's another hot one today! Please know the signs of heat strokes in dogs and how to prevent them. Take immediate action and contact your veterinarian if there is ever any concern about a heat-related issue with your pet...your swiftness could save their lives!

The clinic will be closed tomorrow, July 3rd, in observance of the holiday. We will reopen Monday at our normal hours.
Please keep your pets safe indoors this weekend!

Fireworks can be terrifying for your pets so make sure you have a game plan for keeping them safe and as calm as possible for the 4th of July celebrations! Shelters report a dramatic increase in found dogs on July 5th and we have people bringing in stray pets to be scanned for a microchip every year at our clinic. If you need advice, microchip information or want to discuss medicinal intervention for your pet's anxiety during this firework season, please contact us!

On Monday, June 22nd, we are finally unlocking our doors after months of being on lockdown due to Covid-19!!

We have taken necessary precautions for the safety of our clients and staff including plexiglass at our reception desk, social distancing markers on the floor in the lobby, and frequent, thorough cleaning.

PLEASE NOTE: We will only be allowing 1 client in each appointment with their pet to try limiting potential exposure. Our staff will be wearing face masks in the exam rooms.
We do reserve the right to take your temperature upon entering the building.

If you still prefer having a curbside appointment or want us to bring your pet's medication/product out to you, we will be happy to accommodate. Call our front desk at 314-352-8600 when you arrive at the clinic and an employee will come out to your car.

Please be patient with us during this time of transition and thank you for respecting our new protocols and social distancing measures.
We look forward to being able to see all of you in the clinic soon!

It's a beautiful afternoon for curbside appointments!! 😆

Due to the development of Covid-19, we have decided to go to strictly curbside appointments for the time being.

What does this mean?
When you have arrived at the clinic with your pet, call us at 314-352-8600 to let us know what vehicle you are in. A technician will come speak with you outside and bring your pet in while you remain in the car.
You can request being on speakerphone to speak with the doctor during the appointment or else the technician will recap the appointment with you when they bring your pet back outside to your car.
Our receptionist will call you to receive payment over the phone once the appointment is completed.
Surgeries and hospitalized patients will follow this same protocol.

When you are picking up medications you can prepay or pay at the time of pickup. Once at the clinic for pick up, call us and a technician or receptionist will bring it out to your car.

We are trying to limit the exposure of both our clients and staff. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding while we do our best to still be able to safely take care of your pets. This is new and abnormal for all of us!

Special thanks to our client, Bronia, for making these adorable masks for us. We appreciate you guys looking out for us! We are hoping to be able to stay open throughout this pandemic so you will always have a place to bring your pets should they need medical attention. Together we will get through this! 😷❤

How adorable (and humorously honest) are these shirts?!

Affton Veterinary Clinic is blessed to still be open during these hard times but not all small businesses are as lucky. ALL proceeds of these shirts will go to helping those locally who have been so negatively affected by this pandemic.

Shirts come in multiple styles and sizes. They will ship directly to you with a flat shipping rate.
A huge thank you to St. Louis Sportswear for designing these for us and doing all the work to bring them to you! We can't say enough wonderful things about this local, family-based company!

Shirt sales are for a short time so get yours today! Please share this post and thank you in advance for helping us try keeping St. Louis small businesses open! We have the best clients!

Veterinary practices are “essential businesses”

Veterinary clinics have been determined to be essential businesses, thus we will remain open to treat your pets as safely as possible on a scheduled appointment basis.

If you are not comfortable entering our clinic, call the clinic beforehand and one of our staff will transport your pet to and from your car. This is for all services including appointments and food/medication pick ups.

We are glad to continue being able to maintain the health of your pets, but we do ask that you reschedule your appointment if you are feeling ill or have had possible exposure to the virus for the safety of our staff. If your pet has a wellness visit that you wish to reschedule, call the clinic and we will be happy to accommodate. Also, please try limiting one person attending each appointment to limit the potential risk of exposure.

We will keep you updated on any future changes. Please stay safe and optimistic during this trying time...and enjoy spending extra time with your pets!
