It’s wild how many pastors turned into fashion critics over Jamal Bryant’s wife’s dress.

But what really sent me?
Calling a woman a “$2 wh*re,” insulting her publicly, and comparing her to other First Ladies like she’s in some spiritual pageant.
That’s not holiness. That’s misogyny with a microphone.
Meanwhile…
abuse and predators in churches - quiet
adulterous & neglectful husbands - no smoke
emotionally absent fathers - no rebuke
oppression of women - ignored
physical abuse of children masked as “discipline” - spiritualized
high religiosity + homophobia contributing to depression and suicidal ideation - let’s not talk about that
Jesus flipped tables over exploitation and hypocrisy, not hemlines.
And last I checked, degrading women publicly was never fruit of the Spirit.
If modesty discourse gets more energy than protecting lives and dignity, we’re not defending righteousness, we’re defending patriarchy.
