Our residents don't have to worry about cooking, but it's fun to play in the kitchen when it's a billion degrees outside! This month's theme at Aberdeen is Culinary, and Chef Rob whipped up some cool Tuscan Wraps with our residents at today's demonstration. The only kind of heat you want today is spicy-- and be sure to have a glass of water after your margarita!

One of our favorite days of the year is the day Matsiko Children’s Choir comes to Aberdeen! This year we were wowed by Matsi-teers from Liberia and Peru. Check out this great moment with the crowd!

Thank you to everyone-- residents, staff, friends, family, and neighbors-- who contributed to our annual Estate Sale! It was a huge success, especially thanks to our rockstar ladies-in-charge, Joan Nigh, Joan Brust, Midge Krueger, and Mary Ann Greene. After two days we did over $40,000 in sales, which all goes back to our employees.

Congratulations to our Chef Robert Grotha for his winning submission to Foodservice Director's Best Healthcare Recipe Contest! His Quinoa Crusted Rainbow Trout with Braised Rainbow Swiss Chard is a Regional Favorites Winner. “[This dish] is a unique twist on a tried-and-true favorite,” Grotha said. The trout dish is free of gluten and tree nuts so all of his residents can enjoy it. The dish reminds Grotha of trout fishing every year with his grandfather and dad. It’s served in February and early March, aligning with rainbow trout fishing season in Missouri. More info at the link!

Our Art is Ageless Reception was the place to be yesterday! Residents and staff had a fabulous time celebrating our artists and their beautiful creations. It was a BLAST! (Also the name of one of the signature appetizers.) Thank you to everyone who participated, and congratulations to the winners!
