Stand Up & Speak out its never too late

I am here to tell my story and hopefully help children who have been in the similar situation, I was molested for over a decade. From the time I was 5 years old to the time I was 17 I let it go on for so long because he was family friend and my parents trusted him. It came down to the point when I was 17 ...standing on the side of the highway ready to end my own life because I felt so ashamed but I decided to tell and do something about it. I have now realized that it was never my fault that man took my innocents. As a kid I didnt grow up like most I was living a double life and its not easy I'm starting this group because I want to help children and parents who have been in similar situations and provide encouraging words and support to help the victims to find courage and bravery to STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT!!! I would personally like to thank everyone who joins this group and shares their story. It is our hope to raise more awareness about the abuse that happens daily to our children in this country. It has been extremely painful and difficult to realize that not only had our child become a victim but us as parents as well. Please remember the road to recovery is never easy but with the help of family, friends, therapy and my daughters hope of this group we can help find the bravery within ourselves to Speak Out. If you are a parent and a child comes to you and tells you that something has happened to them PLEASE BELIEVE THEM AND STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT.
