This is a post about arrangements for Kenny. We would like to share that Kenny’s family will be having a private wake and funeral with family only. We will honor their privacy and wishes. We will be having a Celebration of Life/ Memorial at a later date to let everyone show their respects as we honor Ken Kleinberg. The arrangements are being made and we will update you as soon as everything is finalized. We will be having a broken arrow ceremony at that time. Thank you all for your love, prayers , pictures you have shared and your patience as we kept everyone updated daily on Kenny’s condition. He loved everyone in a very special way. Everyone knows Kenny was welcomed with open arms by family members and scouting friends and is rejoicing with all. He is just Wonderful!!!!. Our heart is full of memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to everyone for respecting the Kleinberg family in their time of loss.

It is with great sadness that I post that Ken Kleinberg , also know as our sweet Kenny passed away at 7:52 this morning. As hard as this is to hear we should rejoice in the thought that Kenny is at peace and no longer in pain. He has lived 83 wounderful years and accomplished so much in his lifetime. He is a Navy Veteran, he was a midwife, a banker, a scouter, a friend, mentor, uncle, nephew, brother to so many. The amount of people’s lives Kenny has touched is endless. His legacy will live on forever. No one will ever come close to filling Kenny’s shoes, he is truly one of a kind. Funeral arrangements will be posted as soon as they are known. Please keep his family in your prayers. Continue to share your pictures of Kenny to brighten everyone’s day. Much love to everyone.

Kenny update: what a beautiful birthday celebration Kenny had today. So many birthday cards and wonderful ice cream pictures and a very beautiful Catholic Mass to honor Kenny. Everyone was outside looking in Kenny’s window while Kenny had the view overlooking the lake. There was a large size group of friends. Kenny’s family sat inside with him to worship together. Cards are still coming in so not sure on a final count to see if he received 83 cards. Kenny is resting comfortably. When he starts to get a to trembling or uncomfortable he is given meds to help him. His breathing has definitely changed . He had a sponge bath and an eagle shirt put on today. Please continue prayers and guidance for peace and comfort.

Kenny update tonight: Kenny has slept a good portion of the day today. He has responded a little bit They prayed the Rosary tonight and he did remember it, and even said Amen. He had pain meds after that. He had several visitors today and had family visits today as well. His breathing is irregular. We would love to see those cards come in for Kenny’s birthday on Friday. Please keep the prayers coming.

Kenny update: I was able to see Kenny for a short visit before scouts tonight. He slept the whole time I was there. He seems to be pretty uncomfortable with the pain and is taking his pain meds. His breathing is more labored today. I had the honor to present him with an Eagle Scout mentor pin from a scout that he missed their court of honor. I showed him the picture of the scout and asked if he knew who I was talking about and he was trying to whisper yes so he did mouth the words a little bit. This was very important to the scout that Kenny was given this so I made it happen for him tonight. Please continue to keep Kenny in your hearts and prayers.

Kenny update: several people have asked where Kenny has been moved to. Kenny is staying at Jeanette Fenton Smith and Jeff Smith and their families home. Kenny has spent several Holidays celebrating with them and involved with scouting events, weddings and just spending time with them. Jeanette is also a registered nurse and knows how to handle things with hospice and will be working closely with them and Kenny’s family. I have no doubt he will be very spoiled. Kenny had some water and Ted Drews ice cream tonight. He was asked if it tasted good to him and his response was Hell Yes. That is the Kenny we all know and love. The address is 13053 Bellefontaine Rd., St Louis MO 63138 if you would like to send him a card. Kenny’s 83rd Birthday is this Friday. How awesome it would be if he received 83 birthday cards or more to celebrate. Also, a way to celebrate with Kenny is by you taking a picture of yourself eating ice cream on Friday to celebrate his special day. The day has been declared Kenny Day. Also, Kenny’s phone is there with him and he can receive texts and they will be read to him but please list your name so they can let him know who they are from. Thank you all for the continued prayers.

Kenny Update: I was able to visit with Kenny this morning for a while. I was surprised when I was in his room and he was sitting up in bed and his eyes were open a little bit. He talked for a little bit and even was joking around with me. I told him it was time to shave as he was getting scruffy, he told me whatever. I told him I was happy he was getting out of the hospital tomorrow and he asked me where he was going and I told him and he said wonderful. He will be picked up by his brother and nephew in a car as this is what Kenny requested. He did not want to go by ambulance. The fresh air and breeze I think will do a world of difference for him. Kenny’s family is so appreciative of the over whelming response with the pictures on Facebook. They enjoy seeing his scouting family over the years. Let’s keep showing our support and love. The family has a few requests they would like to have honored. When making your posts on Facebook with memories and pictures, please remember to talk in present tense, as he is very much alive still. No pointing fingers toward anyone but we don’t want people getting the wrong idea. Thank you all for this. We have been able to have a few zoom meetings or FaceTime groups with Kenny lately. Kenny’s family is very strong in saying there is to be NO pictures or videos taken of Kenny. They want Kenny’s health and well being to be considered first. Again , please honor these requests. I will be in touch with the family who Kenny will be staying at daily so I can continue with daily updates. Please have positive thoughts and prayers tomorrow as Kenny leaves the hospital and settles in. We all love you Kenny. Thank You

Kenny update. I was able to visit with Kenny for a while today. He started off kind of frustrated because he was in pain. He is agreeing to take the Morphine when asked if he wants some for the pain. He is still not eating anything. They are squirting a few drops of water in his mouth with a syringe. Even hard for him to swallow. He was able to take communion this morning when they came around and asked. Kenny will be moved out of the hospital on Monday morning to a private residence on hospice . The address and phone number is not being given out at this point as they want him to get settled in because the move is going to be difficult for him. I will continue to post updates each evening after I receive updates from the family. Please respect Kenny’s families wishes as well as the families home he is going to. I know how difficult this has been for everyone to come to terms with but we want Kenny to live out his remainder of his time with peace, comfort and love. Continued prayers are appreciated. Much love to all of you.

Kenny update: I tried calling Kenny’s phone this morning for an update and a nurse answered it for him and gave him the phone. I asked how he was and he just mumbled. I said did you eat breakfast and he said no and I suggested maybe some milk or juice and he said no. He just was confused and mumbled a lot. I just told him I loved him and to get some rest. Not much more to report today. Keep the prayers coming.

Kenny update: Sorry for just now posting but Kenny is not answering his phone anymore and the updates will have to wait until I talk to the family and or his visitor. This morning Kenny was visited by Father Joe Banden from St. Sabina Church. Kenny was awake and they prayed together and Prayed the Our Father and Kenny was given the Anointing (last rites). Hopefully this will give Kenny the peace he is waiting for. Kenny's religion is very important to him and this should give him comfort in knowing this was done for him. He was able to be on a zoom call with some of his friends this evening for a short visit. He did recognize them and did talk some with them. He is still not eating at this point and is doing a lot of sleeping. Please continue to keep him in your heart and prayers. If I may suggest if anyone has a special picture of Kenny or an event you shared with Kenny share this as your profile picture and show the love with each other. Thank you in advance.

Kenny update: On Monday, Kenny's family asked me to be his one visitor for today. I spent about 3 1/2 hours with him this morning. I walked into his room and he had a couple joking marks for me like Kenny would do. His breakfast tray came in and I asked him if he would like to eat and he said leave it. The nurse and I both tried to get him to eat and he refused. He did agree to some juice. The nurse put the straw up to his mouth and he could not get his mouth to suck with a straw as he is just to weak. He did get a couple swallows from a cup. They rolled him and he let out a yell of pain. I would be surprised if he weighs 100 pounds. He did agree to take some morphine which the nurse said he has taken some part of the time. I face timed him with another friend and she got a hello and mumbled a few words then just said it is time. Kenny is at peace and is ready to go home to the good Lord. He was only awake about 20-30 minutes the whole time. The rest of the time he slept and kept making faces from being in pain . I am sorry this message is not very positive I am just updating with as much info as possible per the families request. Please continue to keep Kenny in your prayers and in your hearts.
