Lady J Huston is an internationally acclaimed Vocalist, Trumpeter, Songwriter, Recording Artist and Entertainer Extraordinaire. Possessing music stylings of Soul, Blues, Jazz, & Inspirational music with her vocal range transcending from tenor to first soprano. The Lady J Huston Show presents a classy, Blues & Classic Soul sound, mixed with theatrics from Lady J's Las Vegas style show. The band is comprised of multi-talented musicians who are highlighted as singers & instrumentalists with Lady J featured on Vocals, Trumpet, Percussion and her tantalizing moves. The LJH Show also incorporates the audience, and select participants willing to Show off. Originally from St. Louis, MO, Lady J performed on shows with her mother Loyce Huston who reached great heights as a Vocalist. She attended Central High School where she learned the Trumpet and sang in the Concert Choir developing her wide vocal range. She graduated Valedictorian and was voted Most Talented Student-Female. Lady J then accepted music and academic scholarships at the Univ. of KS & Howard University in DC, eventually earning a B.S.B.A at the University of Redlands, CA. In between college, she toured with Albert King as opening act, trumpeter and music director. She has performed with many national recording artists or shared stages with Bobby Blue Bland, B.B. King, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, Donald Byrd, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Robert Cray, Etta James, Tony Randall, a Dick Clark special and more! She’s been featured in multiple TV, radio, magazines, podcasts and newspaper articles. She is the winner of multiple entertainment awards and heralded as the Las Vegas Queen of the Blues from 2009 through 2013 by the Entertainment Consumers’ Exchange, Inc and Las Vegas Black Music Awards (LVBMA). In 2018, she received the prestigious “Women in the Arts” award from the National Society Daughter’s of the American Revolution, O’Fallon, MO chapter. She is a member of the Rev. John Clark Chapter in Florissant, MO. Lady J returned to her roots of St. Louis, MO around 2014 during a health crisis. While recovering, she continued her music ministry in churches, special events and private affairs. Lady J Huston has returned to her true love of performing on stage with her band that debuted at the National Blues Museum (St. Louis, MO) in Sep. 2018. She loves the interplay with the audience and stretching out her multi-talents as an instrumentalist, vocalist with tantalizing stage antics.
