Inversions work the entire core, shoulders, and upper back. The headstand pose improves your digestion and tones your abdominal organs, activating the pituitary, pineal and hypothalamus glands. They can help alleviate stress and depression. They also help in improving cognitive function. The Yogic name is Shirshasana. Some teachers suggest a maximum of two minutes there are others that suggest 3 to 5 minutes, and other forms are much longer. Work with someone in your local area to learn how to do a headstand properly. Children under the age of 7, pregnant women, glaucoma patients, or folks who suffer from acute or heavy migraines should not practice this.
I went through teacher training in 1991 with a lovely teacher in Seattle Washington. It was the Iyengar method. The Iyengar method emphasizes the cultivation of self knowledge primarily through Asana (yogic postures) and pranayama (yogic breathing) attention is given to the development of alignment, balance, strength, stamina, flexibility, concentration, and keen awareness.
there are many other forms of yoga that are very beneficial. I encourage you to go to your local yoga facility and learn a method that works for you. It is a great practice to add to your daily life.

Many reasons why I’ve gotten back into coaching but one is the transformation I am seeing with myself in losing weight and the other is because of all these beautiful people who have made a commitment as well to do something different that will make a difference in bettering their lifestyle. So many try and try to lose weight but are only incorporating one element- the foods they consume or how much, how little, what kinds etc. but there are more elements that go into it such as mindset, hormones, calibration, making choices vs beating yourself up when you make a more unhealthy choice- it’s just a choice. It’s embracing the beautiful human you are and deciding to just make a shift to feel better for you in whatever that means. I was having joint issues and knew I needed to shift the needle a different direction hence I’m back into coaching to help better the lives of others in their lifestyle to live more passionately, more playfully, more of ease, more activity without fear of not being able to do it due to restrictions etc.. so here’s the beginning for me again in the journey of reaching those that are looking. Namaste 🙏 Denise ❤️
