Real conversations start with listening.

Tomorrow night, The Health Partnership Serving Northwest Colorado is proud to stand alongside local youth leaders as part of the Adult Education Series hosted by Moffat County Youth Action Council.

πŸ—“οΈ Substance Abuse: Real Talk
πŸ“ Craig Chamber Building
πŸ•‘ 6:30–7:30 PM

This session is led by youth, for our community. It is an opportunity for parents, caregivers, and trusted adults to better understand what young people are experiencing and how to show up with support, honesty, and care.

Our Recovery Support team, Nele Cashmore and Kevin Kohlbrenner, will be there to guide conversation, answer questions, and share tools for navigating these important discussions.

This is about more than information.
It is about connection, trust, and creating spaces where youth feel heard.

Thank you to Moffat County Public Health Department for providing lock boxes for attendees. These are a simple, meaningful way to safely store medications and support a safer home environment.

Dinner is provided. Childcare is available. All are welcome.

Come ready to listen.
Come ready to learn.
Come ready to grow alongside our youth.

Some progress. Some new concerns. Both matter.

March 15–21 is National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week, a time to share real information that helps our communities stay informed and safe.

πŸ“‰ Encouraging news:
Recent national data shows overdose deaths β€” including fentanyl β€” are beginning to trend downward for the first time in years.

This progress reflects the power of community education, harm reduction, treatment access, and people looking out for one another.

⚠️ But new concerns are emerging.
Products containing 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) β€” often linked to kratom products β€” are causing serious health effects, including hospitalizations and long-term health risks.

Our local community is already seeing the impact, which is why we recently contributed to coverage in the local news to help raise awareness.

Knowledge is powerful.
The more we understand, the better we can protect ourselves, our families, and our neighbors.

πŸ’š If you or someone you love needs support, resources are available.
We’re here to help connect you.
