A huge congratulations to our very own Executive Chef Nick St. Onge for winning Best Entrée at the OPC Top Chef Competition! 👨‍🍳🏆

Waltonwood culinary always shows up for a win! We are so proud of Waltonwood Lakeside, Waltonwood University, and Waltonwood Main for their incredible entries. Chef Aaron Nash wowed with a delicious Asian Chicken Confit appetizer, Chef Nick St. Onge took home the win with his Mojo Pork Bacado, and Chef Andrea Wallace impressed with her Chocolate Strawberry Delight dessert.

A big thank you to Chef Joel Vassallo, Chef Ali, and Chef Jarret for their support—this truly was a team effort!

Excellent work, chefs!! 👏✨

Spring has sprung at Waltonwood Lakeside! 🌷☀️

The birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and the sunshine is finally here to brighten our days. It’s the perfect time to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and take in all the beauty this season brings.

We were so thrilled to bring another “Adventure by Waltonwood” to life for our Memory Care resident, Dan! Life Enrichment Manager Marcia put together a fun day for Dan and his family to relive his glory days at Imperial Lanes. Dan was a professional bowler which was a passion he shared with both his brother and his son. Dan had a fabulous time with his family on a nostalgic journey back to Imperial Lanes. He enjoyed a one-on-one bowling game with his son while his brother, sister, sister-in-law, and daughter-in-law, all gathered to join and cheer him on! A delicious lunch followed for everyone and Dan was honored during this memorable occasion, receiving a certificate and a bowling trophy for his remarkable achievements. It was a day filled with heartfelt tears and endless fun! 🏆🎳

Happy National Scrabble Day! Independent Living residents had a blast today layering different Scrabble programming to celebrate one of our favorite board games. Life Enrichment Assistant Jasmine hosted her Game Day with residents playing Scrabble, even breaking out the dictionary for more points! Later the residents gathered to create individual custom frames using Scrabble tiles to spell out a cute greeting.

Waltonwood Lakeside’s Easter Brunch buffet was a delightful success! Residents and their families gathered together to enjoy a top notch brunch curated by our amazing Executive Chef Nick and his culinary team. Our in house pastry Chef Chris rounded out the delicious menu with an array of pastries and guests enjoyed spirited mimosas. 💐

Nugget went on a sleepover with one of his favorite volunteers this weekend and here's how it went....

✨ Perfectly ✨

He was a perfect gentleman. This senior boy was an incredible houseguest. He didn't need to be crated at night, slept on his bed and behaved wonderfully. He followed around his human companion and was nothing but polite about it. He didn't have a single accident in the house! Who could ask for more honestly?

Nugget has now been waiting over a month for a forever home. He's just entering his senior years at 7.5 years and aside from needing some dental care (covered by us!) he's healthy and happy. Nugget is non-reactive to other dogs but doesn't like them in his face. He may do ok with another senior companion. Nugget would prefer a home without kitties and he may do ok with respectful, older children.

⚾️ Play Ball! ⚾️

Our residents had a fantastic time celebrating Detroit Tigers Opening Day! From hot dogs and cracker jacks to refreshing beverages, it was the perfect game-day experience.

Even better—cheering on the Tigers as they swept the St. Louis Cardinals made the day extra exciting! 🐯🎉

Nothing brings people together quite like baseball, good food, and great company.
