Patty's Essential Wellness

Patty's Essential Wellness Safe and effective ways on how to use essential oils! Hey everyone! I am married to the love of my life and we have a sweet baby boy named Preston.

My name is Patricia Da Silva and I’m originally from Brazil, but have been living in the USA for more than 10 years. I am a full-time stay-at-home mom, a part time airline employee, a dōTerra Wellness Advocate with doTERRA International. My Essential oil journey started when our son was first born because before him I was never really too worried about how many chemicals are present in our everyda

y lives. However, when Preston came into our world, I started to become more educated about and researching ingredients and quickly grew concerned about all the chemicals present in household cleaning supplies, health & beauty products, and most other commonly used everyday products (many of which we were using ourselves!)

In addition, we were interested in keeping our precious little boy and ourselves healthy using natural remedies. Once we realized that essential oils could so much more than just smell good, they quickly became a part of our daily routine. It didn't take long for me (and my husband) to start falling in love with essential oils and natural solutions. The more I learned about the long-term health benefits of essential oils and the more we witnessed first-hand how well they worked, the more we started living the essential life. Welcome to my Essential Wellness page! I will be sharing my personal wellness journey and how Essential oils have become the cornerstone of my family’s wellness. Please feel free to reach out to us if you ever have any questions, feedback, or suggestions/requests! Warm Regards,

Patty

For a long time, I felt guilty for having days when I didn't want to get out of bed. I called myself lazy, disorganized, unproductive. But the truth is, my body was screaming for help, and I wasn't listening.

Today, I understand that what we call laziness is often emotional exhaustion, mental overload, and a lack of meaning or pleasure in what we're doing.

What about you? Have you been judging yourself too much? Have you been calling yourself lazy when you really need to be nurtured?

Leadership is also this: breaking out of the cycle of guilt and starting to listen to yourself.

Save this post for when you forget. And share it with that friend who's always putting too much pressure on herself.

The mind doesn't shut down on its own.

If you've spent the day ignoring your own thoughts,
it's natural that they'll scream at night.

Because when the world falls silent,
your mind finally has space to reveal what you've been trying to hide all day.

The problem isn't overthinking.
The problem is not organizing what you think.
The mind is energy in motion.
If we don't direct it, it scatters.
If we don't give it space, it takes over.

97% of what happens in your body is controlled by the mind.
And if you don't lead that mind...
It pulls you into the labyrinths of anxiety, guilt, and mental loops.

💡 What to do?

✨ Lead your mind before it leads your body.

📝 Write before bed.
Not as a to-do list, but as a way to make room for what came:

What was left unfinished today?

What needs your presence tomorrow?

What's trying to tell you something?

🌿 Use essential oils with intention.

Lavender to slow down.

Roman chamomile to calm the mental loop.

Vetiver to bring you back to the present.

💨 Breathe deeply. Feel your body. Listen to your breath.

Your mind is yours.
You can choose what to think.
But first... you need to name what you feel.
Because a disorganized mind doesn't sleep.

And without sleep... you lead nothing.

I woke up knowing the day was going to be tough.

Heavy head, weak body, and bad mood knocking on the door.

But, like many women, I couldn't just stop.
So I activated my plan B—the one I use on days when my body needs a break, but life demands movement.

Here's what I did that morning:

1. I started with warm water + lemon essential oil.
Besides purifying, it helps clear the mind.

I also did conscious breathing with it—to activate presence and focus.

2. Peppermint:
1 drop on the back of my neck + deep inhalation with my hands.
No diffuser—I needed to get out.
Just my body, my breath, and the oil.
Activated energy.

3. Supplementation with VGM Max + Mito2Max + Omega
It's my survival combo for intense days.
Mitochondrial support, mental clarity, and sustained energy.

4. Roman Chamomile on the heart + gentle inhalation
Even without sleep, it helps the body restore itself.
It brings calm, comfort, and brings me back to center.

5. Rosemary + Peppermint on the kidney area
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the kidneys are the center of our vital energy.
I massaged the area with both oils and felt my body react.

(press the attention button) Now pay attention! This strategy isn't for every day.
You need sleep.
But on days when you can't, plan B is there to support you.

If you can take a NAP (20-minute nap) throughout the day, even better.
If you can't, choose to take care of yourself in any way possible.

And most importantly:
don't judge yourself, don't beat yourself up.

Be kind to yourself, even on the days when you're just surviving.

Save this post to use when sleep fails... but life calls.
And tell me: which of these strategies have you tried?

As a flight attendant, my body learned early on what it's like to sleep at completely irregular times.

Sometimes I get off a flight and need to sleep in the middle of the day.
Other times, I need to wake up at 2 or 3 a.m., or even fall asleep the moment I arrive, exhausted.
And when sleep doesn't come? Irritation, fatigue, and a bad mood take over.

Perhaps you're wondering why you're so impatient, explosive, and discouraged...
And perhaps the answer is simple: you just need sleep.
Real sleep, restful and restorative sleep.

After 40, this becomes even more evident: not taking care of your sleep is neglecting your physical, emotional, and hormonal health.

Today, more than ever, sleep is one of the pillars that supports the woman I'm building.

And that's why essential oils are part of my ritual—like an anchor that helps the body and mind understand: now is the time to switch off.

🌿 My favorite essential oils for sleep:

Lavender: relaxes the body and reduces racing thoughts.

Vetiver: grounding, helps disconnect and calm the mind.

Roman Chamomile: breaks out of mental loops and helps with restful sleep.

Cedarwood: promotes a sense of security and stability.

Sweet Orange: reduces anxious feelings, brings emotional lightness.

Marjoram: calms the heart and relieves muscle tension.

Lemon: clears thoughts and promotes focus on rest.

🧴 How to use:

🌬️ In a diffuser (use 4 to 6 drops total):

Deep sleep: Lavender + Vetiver + Cedarwood

Calm the mind: Lemon + Chamomile + Lavender

Relax the heart: Marjoram + Lavender + Sweet Orange

🦶 Massage:

Feet, back, or hips with Lavender + Vetiver + Cedarwood in vegetable oil.

🛁 Foot bath:

Coarse salt + 3 drops of Lavender + 2 drops of Marjoram (with vegetable oil).

🧘 Quick aromatization:

1 drop of Lavender in your hands, inhale deeply for 3 minutes.

🌙 You don't have to keep feeling overwhelmed.
Sleep is a choice that starts with small self-care decisions.

⚠️ Why this matters — especially at this stage:

Middle-aged women who sleep less than 7 hours have a 70-75% higher risk of heart disease.

Sleeping less than 6 hours or more than 9 hours is associated with a higher risk of mortality and metabolic imbalance.

Women in the menopause transition report difficulty initiating and maintaining sleep — up to 56% sleep less than 7 hours.

🧠 Sleep regulates:

Stress hormones (such as cortisol)

Metabolism, immunity, and cellular regeneration

Mood, cognition, memory, and emotional resilience

You manage your children's sleep. What about yours?

Many women diligently organize their family routines... but forget to give their own bodies permission to rest.

If prioritizing your sleep were as essential as organizing your children's sleep, a lot would change.

🗓️ How to create a more effective routine:

Always sleep between 7 and 9 hours a night, and at the same time.

Avoid screen time an hour before bed.

Create a sensory ritual: lavender bath, oil foot bath, mindful breathing, or geranium roll-on.

Use your pillow as an inhalation: 2 or 3 drops of lavender to calm the nervous system.

Keep the bedroom dark, quiet, and around 18–20°C.

🌸 Therapeutic conclusion:

Sleeping well isn't about resetting, it's about restoration, it's about internal agreement, it's about silent healing.

If you want to take care of yourself, lead yourself, transform yourself... start by giving yourself the rest your body and mind deserve.

💬 Tell me: how many hours of sleep do you currently get per night?
And what habit can you start today to improve this routine?

📌 Save this post to remember:
7 to 9 hours of sleep are the foundation—not the exception—of the leadership you're building.

The way you start your day changes everything.

For a long time, I thought waking up with a start and rushing to do a thousand things made me more productive.

But you know what I realized?
That this only stressed my body and mind... and made me do everything half-heartedly.

When we wake up in a rush, our nervous system goes into overdrive.
Cortisol rises, the body goes on alert.
And then, instead of having a productive day, you have a tiring one.
Right after lunch, exhaustion sets in.

✨ A peaceful morning doesn't depend on having time.
It depends on how you choose to start.

And that choice is yours.
You set the pace.
You decide whether to start the day with yourself, or by putting out fires.

Start by awakening your body with care.
Breathing deeply.
Drinking water with presence.
Rubbing oil on your wrists. Connecting with yourself — before the world.

🌿 In today's post, I shared 5 simple habits that make a difference.
They're subtle... but when they become routine, they transform your way of life.

Start with one.
Start your way.
But start with yourself.

Save this post to remember tomorrow.
And tell me in the comments:
which of these habits will you try first?

08/07/2025

After 40, it's not just the body that changes.
It's your essence that begins to cry out for truth.

And this cry often doesn't come in the form of words.
It comes in the form of pain.
It comes in the form of insomnia.
Exhaustion for no reason.
Constant irritation.
A desire to cry in the middle of the day.
A tiredness that doesn't go away, even after sleep.

🌿 The body begins to somatize everything the mind has spent years ignoring.
It becomes a mirror of the soul.
And when the woman doesn't listen... it screams.

That's why many women after 40 feel like they're "losing control."
But what's falling away... isn't control.
It's the mask.
It's the persona.
It's the life that was built to please, to cope, to maintain peace, to fit in.

✨ And what comes to the surface... is the real woman.
The one who is tired of abandoning herself.
The one who no longer wants to survive—she wants to live with soul.
The one who is willing to start over from scratch, if necessary, as long as the new beginning is hers.

This woman feels the call in her body:
In her uterus that pulses or closes.
In her shoulders that carry everything alone.
In her intestines that hold more than they digest.
In her chest that tightens when she's too quiet.

✨ After 40, awakening isn't pretty at first.
It's uncomfortable, it's messy, it's confusing.
But it's necessary.

Because either you awaken...
or you get sick trying to maintain the version the world expected of you.

🌸 If you feel like something in you no longer fits,
if irritation, fatigue, conflicts, and physical pain are asking you for silence and courage...
listen.

Maybe it's not a crisis.

Maybe it's a rebirth.

📌 Save this post if you felt it in your body.
💬 Tell me here: what are you ready to let die inside you — to be reborn more whole?

08/06/2025

The life I have today…
wasn't ready-made, nor did it come with a manual.
It came from choices.
And from many doubts, too.

Since the pandemic, I've been going through major transformations.
In fact, I think that's when I began the deepest process of rebuilding myself.
Of looking within and asking: what is still mine?
What am I living that I truly chose—and what am I just carrying?

And yes…
I've taken paths that, to outsiders, might seem confusing.
"She's lost…"
"She doesn't know what she wants…"
But the truth is, I didn't always know.
But I followed.
Because this time, I was listening to myself.

🌿 I stopped following what others thought was right.
And I started following what I felt made sense—even if the path wasn't the end.
Even if in the end I said: "It's not this way."

And do you know what this brought me?
Confidence.

Because the woman who makes mistakes on her own path learns.
And the one who follows the path of others loses herself.

✨ So today, if you also don't know exactly where you're going...
but feel like you're deciding for yourself...
rest assured.

You are exactly where you need to be.
Because the life you want to live
begins with the woman you're choosing to be—even with fear, even without guarantees.

And yes:
You can always change your path.
You can go back, redo, pause, start over.
There's no shortage of time for those in a state of presence.

🌸 Time obeys those who walk with intention.

📌 Save this post to remember:
your life doesn't need to follow other people's logic—it just needs to make sense to you.

💬 Tell me: what recent decision did you make was for you—and not for others?

08/05/2025

You treat the symptom.
The pain eases… and returns.
The insomnia subsides… and returns.
Constipation, cramps, and headaches all come and go.

But what if you stopped trying to silence your body…
and started listening to it as if it were a messenger?

Because that's what it is.
🌿 Your body is a translator of the soul.

And when the soul is silent, it speaks.

When you ignore the feeling, it screams.

Every symptom carries a message.
And yes, you can treat it.
But true relief comes when you honor what's underneath.

💭 What symptoms visit you frequently?

Do you feel like your body is crying out for help, but you don't know where to start?

Some days you wake up tired before you even get out of bed.
You feel like something is off.
But you keep going.
Because "it's just another day."
Because "everyone lives like this."

But living tired, stagnant, overwhelmed, and disconnected isn't normal.
It's common, but it's not natural.

🌀 Your body is begging for a new way of being.
And what it asks for isn't a miracle or perfection.
It asks for a PAUSE.
It asks for LISTENING.
It asks for RITUAL.

🌿 A drop of aroma.
💧 A present touch on your chest.
🫱 A deeper breath.
🌙 A new choice — this time for you.

After more than 10 years working with women around the world, listening to stories, delving into their pain, guiding profound processes of healing and new beginnings… I've learned things that can't be taught in courses.

Truths that time, practice, and soul have revealed to me.

Truths that I share today to spare you years of suffering
and remind you that true well-being isn't about controlling your life…
but about leading yourself within it.

🌿 This carousel isn't about me.
It's about you.
It's about everything you already feel but haven't yet had the courage to put into words.
Read to the end. Feel it. Share it.
And if something touches your heart, write in the comments: "I choose to return to myself."

📖 And if you want to delve deeper, the book Living the Pause, my therapy sessions, and mentoring are paths to that.
With lightness, truth, and freedom.

Inner peace is not found outside. It is cultivated within.
And a few drops can be the beginning of that return.

🌿 Lavender to calm what screams within.
🌼 Chamomile to soften the hard corners of the heart.
🕊️ Frankincense to anchor the soul in the present.
🍊 Orange to restore hidden laughter.
🌺 Ylang Ylang to balance emotional chaos with tenderness.
🌰 Sandalwood to quiet the mind and listen to the body's wisdom.
🤍 Marjoram to embrace what you feel, without judging yourself.

Choose your scent, close your eyes, and breathe deeply.
And allow peace to find a home within you.
Because when you silence yourself within, the world no longer distracts you.
