𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙈𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙮 — 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧

“My name is Jason Siewert, and I am in my 9th year as a Psychologist at the UWSP Counseling Center. I came to UWSP after working in a few other college environments, as well as the UW Hospital in Madison and a large private practice in Illinois. I’ve always been naturally drawn to Psychology and behavioral sciences, in part because I have always been deeply curious about what it is like to live the lives of other people.

I graduated with bachelors degrees in Psychology and German from the University of Minnesota and then stayed there to get a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology. I completed my Ph.D. at UW-Madison, where my research and dissertation involved how a supervisor’s personality characteristics influence the evaluation and training of future Psychologists.

I speak three languages and I try to regularly listen to shows in German and French in order to maintain them, now that I don’t use them frequently. I have a Boston Terrier, named “Reuben” after my favorite sandwich. In the winter I spend my free time downhill skiing and curling, and in the summer I can often be found playing disc golf and maintaining a garden full of flowers and hot peppers. I love music, and my favorite bands are Radiohead, The Grateful Dead, Metric and The National. I used to host a radio show on WSUM in Madison that combined indie rock with uptempo Jazz music.”
