🎓 Meet Duke – Our Brave Graduate! 🐾
Duke, a 6-month-old Great Pyrenees, came to VSCS on May 29th after a devastating accident—he had been hit by a car. His injuries were extensive: bilateral femur fractures and a severe degloving injury to his left hock, which also damaged the ligament and dewclaw. Upon arrival, Duke was in shock and showed signs of head trauma.
After intensive care and stabilization, Duke was finally strong enough to undergo surgery to repair his broken legs. Due to the complexity of his degloving injury, his left rear leg was kept in a bandage that required changes every 3–5 days—for three months!
But today is graduation day! 🎉
Duke is officially bandage-free and cone-free, and he’s ready to return to the fun, playful life every puppy deserves. He’s been an absolute trooper through it all, and his dedicated owners have been by his side every step of the way.
We are so proud of you, Duke! Congratulations on your amazing recovery! 💙🐶
