hydration habits appear to have an outsized
positive impact on renal, cardiovascular
and endocrine health and may even play
an important role in addressing obesity
(Chang et al. 2016; Perrier et al. 2014).

Obesity has now been defined as being 30lbs overweight,
or having a BMI of 30 or above.

Being fit is equally as much about your nutrition as it is about your exercise routine. You cant be fit on a bad diet nor can you be fit on just diet and no exercise. What you eat directly affects the quality of your exercise! Think of food as fuel. If you don’t have adequate vitamins and minerals, your body/ muscles like your heart wont function optimally, and exercise can become so dreadful.

Supplying your body with nutrients before you work out, after you work out and in the recovery period between workouts can impact the quality of your session and affect your fitness goals. In some cases, fueling up during an exercise session can improve your results as well.

I really struggle with this when I am stressed, but I am stopping myself more and more to pray and ask for help, and also to re-access my hunger level. A craving usually demands to be satisfied right away not so much hunger. If one eats out of hunger, one is more likely to eat better and feel more satisfied without any guilt. Now that I am a mom, I often wonder if my head is still attached to my body as a zombie like state of mind describes the season of life. Forgetfulness seems to follow. However, when my Pediatrician mentioned that my babies brain was growing while mine was shrinking due to aging, I was not amused, but decided to look it up to verify. Apparently extra pounds can also lead to a shrinking brain ... Let’s all just exercise right now!

Don’t have time to exercise? Try 5 minutes a day towards progress. I just did 8 minutes of core work. A stronger core means a stronger back to lift, bend, and carry on better. Five minutes a day of strength training can turn into 10, 15, even 20 minutes. For accountability, I am texting a friend each day to let her know I got my 5 minutes in.
