DID YOU KNOW🤔 Not all juniper berries are edible. The berries of Juniperus sabina and Juniperus oxycedrus should not be eaten. When foraging for juniper berries, it’s important to only consume berries from a variety you know is safe.

High blood pressure, low blood pressure: Juniper berry might affect blood pressure and could make blood pressure control more difficult. Surgery: Juniper might affect blood sugar levels, making blood sugar control more difficult during and after surgery. Stop using juniper at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

If you are pregnant or have decreased kidney function, you should not consume juniper berries. People on medications should consult with their prescribing physician before eating juniper berries or using the essential oil, as it can interact negatively with medications activated by the CYP3A4 enzyme.

Juniper’s effects on the uterus might interfere with fertility or cause a miscarriage.
