🌿 Natural Pain Relief From the Pantry & Garden

A gentle herbal guide from Lin’s Apothecary!

Nature has offered people simple remedies for centuries. While herbs and foods can help support the body and ease discomfort, they work best as supportive wellness tools. Always listen to your body and consult a medical professional if symptoms persist or become severe.

🌸 Clove (Syzygium aromaticum)

Traditionally used for: Toothaches

Benefits
• Naturally numbing due to the compound eugenol
• Antibacterial and antifungal
• Helps calm gum inflammation

Things to know
• Clove oil is very strong and should be diluted
• Only provides temporary relief for dental pain
• Not recommended in large amounts

🍯 Honey (Apis mellifera)

Traditionally used for: Mouth sores and irritation

Benefits
• Natural antibacterial properties
• Soothes inflamed tissue
• Supports healing of small wounds

Things to know
• Contains natural sugars
• Raw honey works best for medicinal uses
• Never give honey to infants under 1 year
• Use in small amounts if diabetic

🌼 Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium)

Traditionally used for: Migraine support

Benefits
• May reduce migraine frequency when taken regularly
• Anti-inflammatory properties
• Long history in traditional herbal medicine

Things to know
• Works best as a preventative herb
• Can irritate the mouth if fresh leaves are chewed
• Avoid during pregnancy

🧄 Garlic (Allium sativum)

Traditionally used for: Earaches (as garlic-infused oil)

Benefits
• Antibacterial and antiviral
• Anti-inflammatory
• Warm oil can help soothe ear discomfort

Things to know
• Do not use if a ruptured eardrum is suspected
• Can irritate sensitive skin
• Not a replacement for treatment of severe infections

🧂 Salt (Sodium chloride)

Traditionally used for: Sore Throat, Tired or sore feet (soaks)

Benefits
• Reduces soreness of irritated throats
• Helps reduce swelling
• Can relax muscles
• Epsom salt baths may support muscle relaxation

Things to know
• Avoid using on open wounds
• Too much salt can dry skin

🌶️ Cayenne Pepper (Capsicum annuum)

Traditionally used for: Joint and back discomfort

Benefits
• Contains capsaicin, which may reduce pain signals
• Stimulates circulation
• Often used in topical creams

Things to know
• Can cause a burning sensation
• Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas

🫐 Blueberry (Vaccinium spp.)

Traditionally used for: Bladder and urinary support

Benefits

• May help reduce inflammation

Things to know
• Benefits are mostly supportive rather than medicinal

• Supports joint health
• Powerful antioxidant

Things to know
• Best absorbed when paired with black pepper
• Large amounts may upset the stomach

🌿 Parsley (Petroselinum crispum)

Traditionally used for: Bloating and water retention

Benefits
• Mild natural diuretic
• Supports digestion
• Rich in vitamins and minerals

Things to know
• Strong medicinal amounts are not recommended during pregnancy

🌱 Oregano Oil (Origanum vulgare)

Traditionally used for: Menstrual cramps

• Oregano oil is very strong and should be used carefully

🌿 Mint / Peppermint (Mentha × piperita)

Traditionally used for: Stomach discomfort

• Often used for IBS support

• Can worsen acid reflux in some people

🌾 Dill (Anethum graveolens)

Traditionally used for: Digestive upset

Benefits

• Effects are mild compared to stronger digestive herbs

🫚 Ginger (Zingiber officinale)

Traditionally used for: Nausea

Benefits

• Large amounts may cause heartburn
• Strong flavor may not suit everyone

Heyy everyone just a quick heads up for anyone ordering. We are based in central Missouri and we have a bad snow storm with possible zero degree weather and a from what i was told, q foot of snow coming in tomorrow evening and its supposed to last till Monday, so until further notice i won't be shipping anything out until the weather clears up after Monday🥰
