THREE SENIORS LEFT TO SPOTLIGHT! So we are starting this final Senior Weekend Highlights off with Miss Laney Handschumacher! Laney has been dancing at AADbK since she was three years old. This is her 15th year at the studio and 14th year on the AADbK competition teams. Laney is a graduate at Stow Munroe Falls High School. She also graduated from the Teaching Professions Program at Kent Roosevelt High School.
Some accomplishments Laney is most proud of took place in the dance world. Laney has been honored to have received assistant positions with a few conventions. Laney is currently with Revel Dance Convention as a Pro Reveler faculty assistant, with her first time assisting being her sophomore year. She has had the opportunity to travel and train/assist with many choreographers, work competitions, and perform in shows. Most recently, she has been offered a Prodigy assistant scholarship with NRG Dance Convention and she can not wait to begin with them!
Laney won scholarships that allowed her to attend and train at Hope College in Michigan three summers in a row for the Cecchetti Councils two week Summer Intensive! She has also earned her Cecchetti VI certificate, and has trained at Cecchetti VII.
She began as a student assistant at AADbK when she was 12 years old. Her love for sharing her passion for dance has always been very strong. She began teaching her own classes this year and loves every second! She trains and choreographs both at the instructional and competitive level. Watching her dancers grow and do what they love is one of the most rewarding parts of what she does! When Laney is not at the studio, she enjoys spending time with her friends, shopping, reading a good book, watching her favorite shows, and traveling! Laney will be attending Kent State University starting Fall of 2023. Her major is in Early Childhood Education. She will also continue to teach at All About Dance by Kristen!
Laney, your love for dance is contagious and inspiring! We are so proud of all of your accomplishments over the years. We could not be happier that you are are staying at AADbK and sharing your passion with our students!
