Happy October!

As we near the end of MTN bike season and enter ski season prep, we wanted to take this opportunity to talk about neck and upper back strength: an often underlooked area to strengthen.

We need this area to be resilient to keep us strong on our mountain bikes as well as on the slopes- especially if we take a tumble.

Wondering how many steps to get in a day? Even if you hit the gym for 45 minutes, sitting too much the rest of the day can reduce or even cancel out many of those metabolic benefits. Active people who still sit a lot show worse markers of health compared to those who move more throughout the day. Try these simple tips to get more active and strive for 8-12k steps a day!

We got on some xc skis to enjoy the sunshine! 🌞 Our resident pro xc skier Martha gave us some awesome tips!! Brian tried a few wild moves and ended up in the powder (save that for snowboarding Bri guy), Michele won the downhill olympics & Mila perfectly matched her outfit to her yellow/purple bindings… what more can you ask for?! Go read Mila’s blog this month on catastrophizing setbacks! We’ve all been there. 🙇🏻‍♀️ Things are going smoothly, and then you randomly tweak something or you weirdly feel slower and weaker. Our advice? Don’t catastrophize. 🙂‍↔️ Go back to your notes and modify. Maybe you weren’t ready for that extra vert or weight. Maybe you need to sleep more or check in on your nutrition. Check in with your PT. Remember that your body is resilient and you’ll get through it! 💪🏼
