Greetings,

My name is Dorothea, I am a Licensed Social Worker, it is an honor and a pleasure to be of service to you.
My journey into helping others began in the Juvenile Criminal Justice field, where I learned early on the importance of compassion, accountability, and advocacy. Over time, this work led me into community-based settings supporting disenfranchised individuals facing severe mental health challenges and substance use disorders. These experiences shaped my heart for this work and strengthened my belief in the power of healing and human connection.

I have entered the counseling field with a renewed sense of purpose, perspective, and a strengthened commitment to supporting others on their journey. My education, training, and life experiences have further defined my understanding of resilience, balance, and the complex realities individuals often navigate. I approach my work with the belief that health is the foundation to overall well-being and that healing is a continuous, evolving process.
It is an honor and a privilege to walk alongside individuals as they navigate their own paths toward growth and healing. I believe there is strength in asking for help, and that reaching out is a powerful sign of self-awareness and courage. Joeanna Ruiz, is a Licensed Professional Social Worker who specializes in mental health therapy for children and adolescents, parents, and individuals navigating emotional and relational challenges. She provides compassionate, client-centered care for those struggling with depression, anxiety, family and parenting concerns, behavioral health challenges, and relationship difficulties.

Joeanna has a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Her clinical work is grounded in helping clients better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and build emotional resilience.

With several years of experience working with individuals across the lifespan, Joeanna brings particular expertise in supporting children with disabilities and individuals on the autism spectrum. She is passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive, and strengths-based environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and supported in their personal growth and healing journey.

BreAnna Bennett-McKendrick received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kent State University and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. BreAnna practices from a person-centered therapeutic approach and specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), thoughtfully integrating Motivational Interviewing to support meaningful change. She is dedicated to creating a safe, warm, and comfortable therapeutic environment where clients feel valued, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.

BreAnna has a strong passion for working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidality, and obsessive-compulsive behaviors. She approaches each client with compassion, clinical insight, and a commitment to helping them develop healthier patterns and coping skills.

She is available to work with children, adolescents, emerging adults, families, and couples, offering individualized care that reflects each client’s unique needs and experiences.
