I will add that if you do wear Foundation you can just use a non-tinted SPF underneath. If you're one of those people who are low on vitamin D and you want to get it through the Sun, just get it through your arms and legs (in a timely manner, don't burn) and keep your face protected with SPF and wear a hat to minimize chances of hyperpigmentation , premature aging and burning. Avoiding the "retinoid uglies":
The Sandwich Method (a barrier supporting moisturizer, retinoid, moisturizer again). You can skip your AM cleanse if you're feeling too dry. Start SLOW. Use your retinoid 1-2x a week and only adding nights as tolerated and over time. Start with the low strength retinoid. Use SPF daily and avoid direct sunlight for long periods.
Dr Barbara Sturm is an orthopedic doctor who got into the Skincare game and sells hyaluronic acid serums and moisturizers in the $300 range. While she sells skincare, she doesn't believe in retinol or proper sun protection.
