On Sunday morning, December 29, 2024, we tragically lost Paramedic James Faranda at the young age of 48 due to unforeseen medical circumstances. A dedicated EMS Supervisor for North Patchogue Fire Department and Mattituck Fire District, James was a loving husband to Kate and a devoted father to his two young children, Kyleigh and Connor. Coming from a family of First Responders and Medical Professionals, James was the cornerstone of his family, who cherished every moment with them. As we come together to honor his legacy, our goal is to support his grieving family and alleviate the financial burdens they face in this difficult time. All donations will go directly to helping the Faranda Family during this heartbreaking period. Your support is immensely appreciated.

“The paramedic level is in my opinion a dangerous level . . . they believe they are almost a doctor and that is scary,” he said, adding that he had seen instances when providers stayed on scene longer than necessary, trying to prove their skills, “not because it was right for the patient, but because they can.” -Mr. Glennon, Chairman of the Springs Fire District
