Hoping that everyone's 2025 will be filled with love, happiness and good health!

I decided to start my new year off completely CHANGING UP everything!!! New workout program, new nutrition plan, some new wellness products! I also decided to add Yoga back in once a week!

Sometimes you have to make big changes if you want to achieve change! For all of last year, I was so restricted on what I could do activity wise, and even when I started back to working out, I felt like I was just going through the motions. Same old workouts and I wasn't feeling challenged or motivated.

But then I decided to lock arms and work with one of my favorite mentors, Meg Kozkowski, who together with Chris Downing created the 8 Week Flex Program with a nutrition plan designed to build muscle. **This goes perfectly with my mission to build back muscle after my surgeries!!!**

And I love love love the tagline for the program "The COMEBACK is always greater than the setback". Lord knows I had setback after setback the past two years, but this will be my comeback year!!!

I did the Day 1 workouts today and I loved the change up! I'm so looking forward to the next 8 weeks and the results that will come!

I just heard that new regulation in the US will ban some toxic substances from being added to foods starting in Jan 2025. This is a huge step in the right direction for the health and wellness of the people in our country!!!

After my cancer scare and health issues, I dove into research on what we put in, on and around our bodies and was shocked at how many toxins are bodies are exposed to daily. And have made many changes to reduce exposure to toxins. This will be a large part of my new business helping others to reduce toxins in their lives!

10 years ago after moving from Oregon to Georgia, I put a message out on our neighborhood FB page looking for workout buddies to come to my house everyday and workout with me... And these two ladies (as well as some others) joined me AND 10 YEARS LATER are still working out with me!!! πŸ’“

It's been 1 year since my left shoulder surgery and 8 months since my right one! At this point the left is fully healed and it's all about building back the strength I have lost. Which I've had to have TONS of patience with, since I just want to pick up a heavy weight and start lifting heavy again. But... I can not. I had to start with 1 lb weights and move to 2's then 3's then 5's, 6's and I am finally up to 8 lb weights... one year later!!!! (I use to easily do 15's). I'm currently doing a combo of workouts, some Dig Deeper ones, some Muscle Burns Fat and good ole Ab Ripper X every other day to rebuild my core strength. The new book I just started is ALL ABOUT building and maintaining strong healthy muscle on your body and the science behind why this is critical to being healthy. Such an interesting read so far and I am loving the info (so different from a lot of what we all have been told in the past). I've also started diving into Gut Health research and how important that is as well and recently went to my Gastrologist to come up with plan to strengthen my gut biome! Never stop trying to be a little bit stronger and better every day, no matter what obstacles come your way or how old you are. It is not too late!!!

An oldie but a goodie!!! I have always loved this Combat program and in the book I'm reading by Dr. Cabral, he highly recommends kick boxing as a great workout. I woke up with a migraine this morning which always makes me feel nauseous. So I dusted off my old DVD and popped it in and had an awesome workout! He also wants you to get at LEAST 10,000 steps a day, every day, 7 days a week. More is better. So my new daily goal will be at least 10,000 steps, even if it means I have to go for a walk at night to get them all in!

Just curious, does anyone else have a steps goal they work towards? And if so, how many do you get in on a regular basis?

I'm back....

With permission from my physical therapist, I started working out again this week! I told her that I had the perfect program to do lower body, that I would keep my arm in the sling, only do low impact, hold onto a chair for balance and she said yes!!! One week of Barre Blend in the books and I can not express how great it feels to be back to working out!!

I've added this on to my other post-op fitness, which up until this week was solely walking with the goal of 12 miles per week. 3 days of 3 miles walks and 1 mile walks mixed in on the other days. Walking is one of the best, easiest ways to keep moving even when recovering from surgeries!!! It's how I eased back in after both my surgeries this year.

Looking forward to slowly and gradually building my way backup to strength workouts!
