I LOVE US!!! 💜💜 We celebrate our love every day and don't need a holiday but I enjoy sharing our relationship every once in a while.

We actually just had a conversation about how lucky we are that we enjoy spending almost evvvvery waaaaking miiiiinute together 👀🥴🤣 Yes, sometimes we need our space but what relationship doesn't. We balance each other out and if you know him y'all know I have my work cut out for me. 🤣JK!! We make each other laugh uncontrollably, love unconditionally and we support each in every thing we do! There is absolutely no one else I want to travel this life with!

Do you even rest??⠀

No really, consider that for a second... do you really let yourself recover?  ⠀

As my fitness journey evolves to not only include hard core fitness but one of healing and health, I’m putting much more emphasis on rest and recovery and, really, I should have been doing this all along. ⠀

Here are some things I’m prioritizing right now:⠀

😴 sleeping 7-8 hours a night. No more 6am wake up call for your girl for a while. ⠀

🧘🏽‍♀️ controlled stretching 5x/week. I’m cutting back on workouts that are harder on my body and including more stretching and steady state cardio.

✌🏾Two rest days a week instead of just one ⠀

In order to push forward in abundance versus overwhelm and stress, I gladly spend a healthy amount of time revisiting what I've done.

It's so easy to get caught up in the next thing. The next accomplishment. The next idea. If you're a performance based individual like me...YOU RELATE.

You won’t love yourself more when you weigh less. 💜💜💜

I used to think weight loss would lead to more self-acceptance. It wasn’t happening.

Here’s the REAL deal:

✌🏾Our pant-size WILL fluctuate throughout our lives, but it will NEVER determine what we can contribute to the world around us. So we HAVE to COMMIT to ourselves RIGHT NOW, no matter what.

✌🏾Do we want to be “getting back on track” till we’re 85? No. Then maaaybe the “diet starts Monday” life needs to stop. Maybe there’s a different solution.

✌🏾If we could get inside others’ heads, we would stop comparing ourselves! We ALL have things we want to improve and change and grow in that others might disagree with - so how do YOU actually feel? If YOU are more at peace and comfortable, THAT’S where the real magic happens. 🧘🏽‍♀️

I only wish I’d found this freedom and balance SOONER! It’s like a new lease on life!! If your intuition is firing off, drop me your fav emoji and we’ll talk!🙏🏽🙏🏽

My clients' goals are all different but the path to reach those goals are very similar. You have to be consistent, eat the right foods, get enough sleep, stay hydrated and stay motivated (and when the motivation isn't there, let discipline take over 😝). You can work towards being fit but if you aren't fueling your body properly, you're setting yourself up for failure.

By Improving your diet, you will enjoy increased energy levels, a stronger immune system, and generally feel well more often. However, eating a healthy diet does not ensure that you will lose weight. Your weight is a balance between the calories you take in and the calories you burn.

When it comes to meal prepping it's better to keep things simple 👍🏾 You don't have to follow a super difficult recipe, just invest in some good containers for the week and give yourself a couple of hours.💜 I usually prep at least 3-4 days at a time. Any more than that and you risk the food going bad (unless you freeze it)! You can make a huge batch of a grain such as brown rice or quinoa and if that isn't your cup of tea, white rice, sweet potatoes or any other root veggie that can be your carb base.🥔 Then add your protein such as lentils, chickpeas, beans, tofu, etc. (If you're a meat eater than of course chicken, lean beef, fish). There are so many options.

Top with some type of leafy greens such as kale, spinach, romaine lettuce or just a basic salad or your favorite non-starchy vegetable. 🥬🥦🥒 And throw in some fruit during the day. You can't go wrong with a piece of fresh fruit 🍎🍓🍌 Make your own salad dressing for the week (if you need a few recipes let me know and I'll share some with you 🙌🏾). You can also use hummus or EVOO & red wine vinegar. Oh, and don't forget other healthy fats you can include like avocado, nuts and seeds.

Remember, planning and prepping for the week can be the difference between being successful or falling short. The key is to stick to whole, nutritious foods. When shopping for your groceries, stick to the outer perimeter of the store. This will keep you from being tempted to buy foods you don't need. Lastly, if you're not sure exactly what to eat or what you like, keep practicing until you find a simple plan that works for you. Yes, it can be that simple!!

I struggle with this every day! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Regardless of how I plan my day,, I always have to prepare to change it in a heartbeat!!

I love working out at night because it allows me to do everything I need to do during the day BUT when I workout in the early morning, I feel I have a great attitude and tend to make better food choices.

Oh being a wife and mother. The most rewarding and exhausting season of my entire life.  My partying days don’t hold a candle to the blurs that my days are right now. 🤷🏽‍♀️

But ya know what I’m doing differently now that’s making ALL the difference in my ability to be fully present?  I’m making sure I get at least 30 min for ME every single day, and I’m finally NOT on a diet (serious.) I knew the constant shame cycle wasn’t sustainable, and I mean…it wasn’t working if I’m honest with myself. 

I’m SO THANKFUL to have found balance, to feel comfy in my own skin, and have a constant routine I can COUNT ON to get out of my head and into my body.  (I’m passionate about it, so DM me if you want to talk about what I do now!!)

Believe me, my hubby is MORE than happy to make sure that time happens somehow, because as the saying goes… 

“Mama ain’t happy, ain’t NOBODY happy.” 😜

Its Monday, the 1st day of February and officially "Kick January Out the Door " Day!! 🤣 Just kidding!!

I took progress measurements after completing the first phase of my new program and I lost 6lbs and a total of 7 inches (WOOHOO). I also checked my final numbers for the month of January on my bike and I rode my bike over 200 miles and rode it every day the month of January. 🙌🏾 I'm so excited...I haven't hit these numbers for a few months.

It could have been due to pandemic blues, a small injury, just not enough time or me just saying I don't want to. Regardless of the reason, I stopped being committed to my goals and that's a big NO NO!!

Before the end of the year, I recommitted to ME and that's an awesome feeling. January is over but that doesn't mean that my goals have changed. As we enter February we all should focus on putting ourselves FIRST. It doesn't make you selfish, it shows you love you and are making you a priority!

Did I want to workout this morning? 𝙉𝙊!!

Am I glad I did? 𝙊𝙁 𝘾𝙊𝙐𝙍𝙎𝙀!!

My mind is not always in the right mindset to workout and sometimes my body is just tired. I took my first rest day this week but with training clients, working my online coaching business and school, this morning I wanted to just sleep in. My motivation wasn't there but my dedication got me up and dressed! Some times that's all you need. 💪🏾😉
