Today makes one year since Hagen’s accident. He spent 72 days in trauma ICU at OU Medical Center, 28 days in a LTAC facility in Shawnee and then 14 days in Ardmore at a inpatient rehabilitation facility. I must say that was the longest 4 months of our lives. Hagen spent most of it fighting for his life while we spent our time praying for a miracle. On June 30th Hagen got to come home. Hagen is still working on getting back to 100%. He has had a few set backs but nothing he can’t overcome. We want to thank all of Hagen’s medical team, especially his team at OU. They were amazing and we are forever grateful for them. 💙HKG #2033 We also want to thank everyone for all the prayers and support we received along this journey. 💙HKG

It’s been a while since we’ve updated. Hagen has had his hip replacement surgery and it went great! There was a minor setback from infection recently but he had surgery to remove that the 27th. A change of antibiotics and we are back on the road to healing. Outpatient physical therapy starts soon that will get him closer to the next step of knee surgery.
On a different note, let’s wish this ornery and wonderful soul a Happy 27th Birthday! We are so glad to celebrate and have you here with us! We love you Hagen!!!

Hagen had to have an MRI on his knee and CT scan on his hip today so while we were up this way he wanted to stop in and catch the night crew. We are still missing a few of his team but we will eventually get pictures with them !!! We sure were blessed with the best nurses and medical staff !!! It was also great too see the puzzles being carried on, we started doing puzzles to help pass the time and would leave them for the next family to enjoy. There were times when there was 5 or 6 different families working on puzzles. We had other families bringing puzzles too. Definitely great too see the puzzles still being shared!

It’s been a while since we’ve shared any of Hagen’s progress but he is still making advances daily! So proud of our friend and how far he has come! Keep the prayers coming for his continued recovery! We love you Hagen!

We are so grateful for this team of nurses, respiratory therapists and physical therapists. We are missing so many from this picture that was also a part of Hagen’s medical team, his doctors and many more nurses and respiratory therapists. We also dropped off special gift bags for everyone that had a part of his recovery ❤️‍🩹!!! They are all true heroes, we will never forget them. HKG #2033 TICU💙

Update for Hagen 6-30-23
God is so good! Hagen had his accident on March 4th and now 119 days later he is home !!! Yes I said HOME!!! We can’t express how happy he is to finally be home. He will have home health till he can start outpatient physical therapy. We want to thank everyone for all the prayers throughout Hagen’s recovery. If anyone wants to stop and visit just holler at him.

We are so proud of this young man!! He is up to walking 146ft! To see this fella standing tall is sooo good for our hearts and hope he is as proud as we are! Keep up the amazing hard work bud!

Update on Hagen
June 16,2023
Big day for Hagen !! He said goodbye to Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Shawnee and hello to Mercy Inpatient Rehabilitation Center in Ardmore. He was blessed with some great nurses and physical therapists at Cornerstone to help get him healed and prepared for the next step. He is ready to set goals and crush them!!

Update on Hagen 6-10-23
Hagen has had a good week. He did great with PT. He is officially off all monitors, no more continuous pulse ox, IV is gone and the rest of his stitches in his arm were removed. Today he was able to stand up and transfer from the bed to his chair without using the lift. This was big !!! Then he transferred from the chair to the shower chair and had his first actual shower in over 100 days !! Even tho the shower chair was uncomfortable he said the shower felt great .
And he doesn’t like me taking his picture…😂😂😂
