The reauthorization of the Autism CARES Act is currently under consideration by Congress. This Act provides funding essential for autism research and providing resources needed to support the autism community. However, there's a concerning trend we cannot ignore: as funding for autism research has grown, the focus has significantly shifted away from individuals with profound autism, leaving a gap in where people requiring 24/7 care throughout their lives are left in the shadows.

The truth is, many of our representatives in Congress might not be fully aware of this disparity and its impact. Your voice is a vital catalyst for this change. By reaching out to your representatives, you can help ensure that the Autism CARES Act serves EVERY person on the autism spectrum by making sure profound autism is included in the reauthorization.
