Boy do I have a birth story for y’all. But first I have to wait for the baby to get here. Inductions- an induced labour, or induction, these labour processes are started artificially. It might involve mechanically opening your cervix, breaking your waters, or using medicine to start off your contractions — or a combination of these methods.
In this case my client had protein in your urine and elevated blood pressure showing a strong sign for preeclampsia. With that potentially being toxemia of the blood it’s a health risk to mother and child. Most would want to get the bay out as soon as possible. Luckily we were very close to the due date about 1-2 days away. When she arrived to the hospital she was already 50 percent effaced meaning her cervix had thinned out 50 percent. But that don’t mean it was going to be easy. With that being said I have been here for 24 hrs and momma has been here for 38hrs. When you don’t want to leave your client because you are monitoring her blood pressure babies heart rate. Changing positions to keep hospital staff happy and client comfortable you sleep nearby. You can’t use the tub if you have risk so I utilized it and got a little nap-a-roo. Can’t knock the hustle!
We are almost at the finish line send us love

Well this one is special!!!! Hey community meet another Womb Sister blessing Kingston!!!!!! Let me tell you how spirit works. Kingston was born the same day as Monica. Monica had was an induction about 2 days. While I was at the hospital came rolling in as well. Both clients had the same doctor. Came to the same hospital and had me going back and forth tending to their needs and helping them throughout their birth.
Kingston is so special because when I had his mother was my first volunteer to help make sure the day went smoothly. She didn’t know me and was there the whole day. I am so happy to have been apart of this birth. Again dad was sooo excited to help and support his mini me and partner. I also got to turn his placenta into pills and belly bind his momma! That will be shown later. Thank you for always supporting me. Thank you for your trust! Kingston welcome to the family.

Welcoming Baby Monica!!!!
She was born on a busy hospital day. Her mommy Melanie shower nothing but bravery and drive. Her dad was so supportive and just excited to be a father. I actually got a chance to bond with dad as he shared testimony on faith and drive. But my favorite story is how he knew he was in love day one with seeing his wife. I loved watching them just know each other and support each other. Dad even refused to eat if at the moment his wife couldn’t eat. Although baby girl will soon be 2!!!! She left nothing but a lasting impression. Thankful that she picked me to be apart of the birthing team!

This is my Nicky baby!!! Nicky reached out and wanted a doula back 2019. She had experienced trauma from her first birth. She was very adamant about wanting to take a complete different approach. I took the time out to allow her to tell her story because again she didn’t feel heard during her first birth and even discussing her birth brought tears. She wanted a birth center birth or homebirth. Nicky needed to be supported and know all her options. We was really building trust and sisterhood. I always make it my business to also share my own stories to equally be vulnerable. One evening Nicky calls me and in panic Shantel I feel cramping and I’m spotting lightly. I asked her to control her breathing sit down and hydrate let’s see if it slows down. Then I asked her what does your intuition say. Her first response was go to the hospital Nicky was past the 3 month mark. Her husband and her was truly happy about this birth. With hopes of possibly getting a progesterone shot or ointment incase of miscarriage! She went in… alone. I stood on standby because air cover three states and at the time I was in New Jersey. She called me within 2 hrs and said I haven’t seen anyone. The nurses are ignoring me they have me just laying in a bed and no one has seen me. She’s now hysterical. As I’m talking to her she screams ohhh god…Shantel I’m no longer spotting I’m heavily bleeding. She calls for a nurse and they come look at her and give her a pad. She hysterically crying and the only person who comes to see her is someone from billing to get her insurance. in disbelief and I get up and haul ass to hold space with her.

I am not afraid to share that I been through a lot. It has affected the way that I communicate and also walk in my power. I have been through child abuse, daddy abandonment, divorce, and failure. By the time I hit 30th of age, I was completely loss. I looked in the mirror and a different girl. Bigger than my pregnancy weight and sad. I asked myself what’s one thing that makes you happy… the first word that popped up was birth. I looked up entry level birth jobs came across doula. Looked it up and at this time I’m 25 yrs old and on maternity leave. I didn’t have the funds for a course. I let it sit and continued to lose myself. 3 yrs later I said take the leap of faith. I risked my rent signed up for a doula class in Brooklyn with and . I left my course excited and spent days trying to name myself. My sis-star helped me come up with name. Immediately I finished the course in July and already had three births set up with 3 women who been in my life since I was 19. 1. we worked at Victoria secret together. She just so happened to be having her 3rd child and wanted to do it naturally. 2. she was and is the sister I always wanted she just was so proud that I was doing something that I loved and always supports my endeavors. 3. my college sister who I go to experience so much with on campus and happen to meet up again at our hospital job. She was pregnant and gave me the opportunity to hold space with her. Before 2017, was over I got to experience 3 births with three women god put in my life to help me align to my destiny! Tia birth was the first and in the hospital I had to catch her baby because hospital staff wouldn’t listen to us!!! What a way to start your birth work. 3 babies was born but The Womb Sister (me) was rebirth.

Yeah it’s 2022 but I haven’t really post anything but advocacy for work so let’s get into it!
Daphney came to me 2019, she completely knew what she wanted. Being it was her first… she had her baby in the hospital but definitely wanted nothing but a natural approach. Now we talked about how do we know when labor was starting and we did a whole birth plan. I am at another birth and this birth is going pretty long. Daphney knew and was like Shantel I got this labor was slowly picking up. She called kept me fully updated and we held space virtually. Daphney did EVERYTHING I TOLD HER TO DO. stayed hydrated and ate. Rest when i said rest and walked when I said walked. Her husband really used every coping exercise I gave him. He did hip squeezes and everything. Baby one was a boy and born May 5, 2019 💛in Morristown, NJ. I then hauled ass at about 2am-3am to Livingston, NJ to Daphney. Took a moment in the parking to pray and cleanse my energy and walked into her birth. Never fails St. Barnabas nurses are alway salty. Got inside listen to what was happening. Daphney said I can’t birth in this bed. I gave her the tens machine and it got her to relax. We held space and she progressed. No epidural no meds. We both agreed that we would continue to use the bathroom as a way to give her intermittent monitoring. We snuck her liquids and granola bars. She labored on the toilet squat in the bathroom. It got to the point where she was gave me the tweety Bird look and said my baby is coming. Shift changed so she got a new nurse who was actually bomb. She was like Daphney your doing amazing looks like your far let me phone your doctor whatever you do don’t push 😑. She exits…. Me girl you going to let those va**na walls get loose. Breathe allow yourself to open do not fight this!!! You are in a hospital they are going to learn today. Allow your baby to come down so we can keep our va**na NICE!!!!!!! Still with tweety bird eyes she said ok I got this. Nurse comes back are pushing👀👀👀 Daphney I don’t know… me 😒 this is sooo ghetto what you think we suppose to be doing. Also me: nope just surrendering to the pressure. Nurse leaves ok this how you push sis rest in comments!

Happy 2022!!!! Man oh man 2021 was hard. But we are still here. Those who don’t know I am honest. A story is a story and baby I have many!!!
I post in the story so you know I am alive. But I am back ready to hit your timeline. Ready to work and don’t get it twisted I been working in silence 2020 & 2021, I worked but was in a dark place. I knew my goals but just didn’t have the strength to pull through.
I was still trying to figure out who I am and how to be me! While being a mother and entrepreneur.
I don’t expect the road to be clear. I’m just ready to embark on the journey.
This isn’t a new me. I just lost the vision these past 21 years and ready to make the 7 plus worthwhile and epic!
Stay tuned.

She went to the hospital fighting depression. The family still has no answers and was treated as if Denise life had no value.
We have to stand together and demand a change.
