If you've been feeling weighed down lately, by stress, by low mood, by a nervous system that hasn't fully settled in a while, you may have noticed the small joys getting harder to access. Your daily walk that used to feel like a reset doesn't quite land the same way. The dinner with your family doesn't fully pull you out of your head. You're there, but not really there.

When your brain is stuck in patterns of overactivation, hypersensitivity, or chronic stress, it has a harder time accessing the states where joy actually lives. This is deeper than a gratitude practice or trying harder to be mindful and present. It's about a nervous system that needs help finding its way back to a baseline level of calm.

Brain training, also known as neurofeedback, works directly with those patterns of chronic overactivation and tension. In sessions, we use sensors to track your brainwaves and create real-time feedback that helps your brain practice transitioning into more optimal and flexible states. Over time, the small joys become accessible again — not because you're forcing it, but because your system has more space to feel them.

If you're ready to try something new to feel like yourself again, get in touch to book a consultation about brain training in Wilmington or Surf City, NC.

At the end of a long day, is your body tired, but your brain wired?

When your nervous system is stuck in high alert mode, sleep can become harder to access. Over time, your brain has learned a pattern of staying "on," or pushing through, even when you know that your body needs rest.

Brain training (aka neurofeedback) works directly with that pattern. In training sessions, small sensors will track your brainwaves and your turn it into real-time feedback through hearing music and watching a video, that helps it practice calmer states.

If your nights have been hard, you're not alone.

If you or your child experience the world more intensely than most, including experiencing bright lights that feel painful, sounds that capture your attention, clothing tags that become unbearable, you're not imagining it. Those with heightened sensitivities are working with a nervous system that picks up more signal than average. That heightened perception requires an extremely large amount of energy in your brain.

When your brain is stuck in patterns of hypersensitivity and chronic overactivation, ordinary input can feel overwhelming. The good news is that the nervous system can practice regulating that input.

Brain training, also known as neurofeedback, works directly with those patterns. In sessions, we use sensors to track your brainwaves and create real-time feedback that helps your brain practice transitioning into more flexible, regulated states. We work with adults and children, and many parents come in with their kids.
Over time, the world doesn't have to arrive quite so loudly.

If you're ready to explore something that supports your or your child's nervous system at the regulation level, get in touch to book a consultation about brain training in Wilmington or Surf City, NC.

If you suffer from cluster headaches or migraines, there are some days that you just barely make it to the end of and call it a win. Maybe the headache eased enough for you to function. You were able to keep the lights dim. The meeting got rescheduled. You got through.

But getting through your days isn't the same as really living to your full capacity.

If migraines have been shaping your weeks — what you say yes to, what you cancel, how present you are when you do show up — you're not imagining how much they take. The brain that produces migraines is often a brain stuck in patterns of overactivation, hypersensitivity, and difficulty returning to baseline.

Brain training, also known as neurofeedback, works directly with the nervous system patterns underlying many migraine experiences. Research on neurofeedback for migraine relief is growing, with several studies showing reductions in frequency and intensity of attacks.

In brain training sessions, we will use sensors to track your brainwaves, and create real-time feedback to help your brain practice transitioning into calmer, more flexible states.

If you're tired of just getting through the days, get in touch to book a consultation.

When you're feeling dysregulated, it helps to have a few tools on hand that can reset your nervous system.

Each of these works with the same pathways your body uses to move from stress into calm. The body already knows how. Sometimes it just needs a short pause and a reminder.

Research continues to support these tools. A 2025 meta-analysis found that laughter-based interventions significantly reduced symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, and similar evidence supports the role of vagal tone, breath regulation, and bilateral stimulation in nervous system recovery.

Brain training, also known as neurofeedback, works with the same nervous system. It adds something the others can't: real-time feedback about what your brain is actually doing.

Save this for the next time your system feels stuck.

Anxiety isn't just in your head. It's in your nervous system.

When the brain stays stuck in a high-alert pattern, especially over a long period of time, symptoms can keep showing up as racing thoughts, trouble sleeping, a tight chest, or feeling on edge for no clear reason. The brain has learned to run that pattern, even when there's nothing to run from.

Brain training works with that pattern directly, by using EEG sensors to track your brainwaves in real time, the brain receives visual and audio feedback that helps it shift toward calmer, more flexible states.

Brain training is not a replacement for therapy or medication. It's a tool that supports the nervous system's ability to regulate itself, often alongside other care.

What is brain training, and why are families across the Cape Fear region trying it?

Brain training, also called neurofeedback, is a non-invasive way to help your brain learn to regulate itself. Sensors read your brainwaves in real time. When your brain produces patterns linked to focus, calm, or restful sleep, you get instant feedback through what you see and hear. Over a series of sessions, the brain learns to do this on its own.

Research has shown that brain training can support people with attention, mood, sleep, and stress regulation challenges.

At Be You Neurofeedback in Surf City, every session is private and 1:1. Just you, your brain, and a trained technician helping you make sense of your patterns.

Curious if it might be a fit for you or your child?
