More than 720,000 lives across the world are lost to su***de each year, around one death every 40 seconds. These deaths are able to be prevented if we are open to having compassionate conversations about su***de.

The theme of "Changing the Narrative" is for us to be open to these discussions, challenging myths related to mental health, and having this develop an environment where those struggling feel willing to speak up about their struggles and seek help.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please feel free to reach out for support. You can call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline - available 24/7.

Let's be kind, open, and supportive for those who are struggling 💚

A rainbow baby is a baby born or adopted after the loss of a child either in pregnancy or after birth. The significance in this symbolism lies in the fact that there is not a rainbow without a storm, the storm is essential to the creation of a rainbow. It is a depiction of the sometimes long and heavy road of pregnancy after loss filled with numerous emotions of sorrow, anxiety, grief and also hope and joy. Today we are celebrating all of the rainbow babies, those who came before them, and their parents journeys.🌈 💛

There are many emotions that can come with going back to school whether that be anxiety, excitement, sadness, etc. We wanted to share a few tips with you all to hopefully help in this transition! 🍎

1. Set realistic goals - Try breaking up larger goals into small manageable steps. Let go of comparing thinking you "should" be able to do more and celebrate the successes no matter how small they may seem.
2. Prioritize self-care - Taking care of our bodies helps us take care of our minds. Try your best to prioritize eating balanced and sleeping balanced along with doing things you enjoy.
3. Gratitude - Consistent gratitude has shown to decrease stress and anxiety, better our physical health, as well as strengthen our relationships. It shifts our focus from comparison to what we have being enough.
4. Establish a routine - Try and set regular sleep/wake times as well as designate time to study and for self-care.
5. Stay connected - Isolation can negatively impact our mental health. Do your best to intentionally make time for connection!

None of these things are black and white meaning building new habits takes time and it is not a failure if you are not doing them consistently every day. 1% more each week counts!

Happy school year! 💛

August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month — Let's Talk Mental Health 🧠🍼

Breastfeeding is often celebrated for its physical health benefits, but its impact on mental health is just as powerful — for both mom and baby.

✨ For Moms: Breastfeeding supports postpartum recovery and can help regulate stress hormones, promote bonding, and even reduce the risk of postpartum depression in some mothers. The release of oxytocin during breastfeeding fosters connection and calm, helping new moms feel more grounded in a season that can often feel overwhelming.

✨ For Babies: Breastfeeding promotes emotional security through skin-to-skin contact and consistent closeness, supporting nervous system regulation and attachment from day one.

And yes — exclusive pumping is breastfeeding too. Every ounce you give your baby, however you give it, is part of the same loving effort to nourish and connect.

But let’s be clear — breastfeeding isn’t always easy or accessible for everyone. The mental health of the birthing parent always comes first. Whether you breastfeed for days, months, years, or not at all — your wellbeing matters. There’s no “right way,” only your way.

This month, let’s honor all the ways that breastfeeding can support postpartum mental health — and advocate for the emotional support, education, and space every mother deserves in this journey.

💛 You’re doing beautifully, mama. One feeding, one breath, one moment at a time.

This year's theme is "Turning Awareness into Action" by asking people to engage in the community to improve mental health.

As a way for us to live out this theme and kickoff mental health awareness month, we started by attending West Bend's Wellness Fair! Emily and Lizzy advocated about the services Nourish Your Soul offers along with an activity for the students to engage in by making a Gratitude Keychain. The students were encouraged to write down something they were grateful for on a keychain to have as a reminder each day and discussed the importance of how gratitude can influence our mental health.

If you or know anyone who is struggling with their mental health, please feel free to reach out as we are here to support.

Today is world maternal mental health day and one of our very own mental health therapists, Jena VonFeldt has a message to share:

"The strain that a mothers body goes through between pregnancy, birth and the fourth trimester are intense and the peak of what a body can handle. But so many times people forget that our brain is going through the same stretching, growing, and remodeling process too. Today is a day to highlight and reflect on the mental health struggles of motherhood (from beginning to end) and remember that we do need a village and mothers shouldn't have to do this alone."

If you are a mama or know a mama who is struggling either nutritionally, with your mental health, or both we are here for you.
