🔥’d Up! Ready to Go! The 2025 NAACP National Convention was nothing short of AMAZING and MOTIVATIONAL!
From the plenary sessions, to the Resolution voting, to the closing session yesterday morning… I have been inspired to continue the ancestor’s efforts through my life’s work.
Humanity is a requirement for all people and any efforts, policies, laws or executive orders which serve to jeopardize that is not only insulting- it’s unacceptable.
Thank You Charlotte, North Carolina for hosting all of us in your “Queen City”.

Many have tried, many have quit, many have lost faith, but, however, and/also…

I decided that trying is not an action, quitting is not an option and faith is sometimes all I have. I’m a “Sur-Thriver”
When days are long and I’m exhausted, I stop and remember that “I get to do this!” I decided that success is a decision made everyday and everyday, I decide to succeed.

“You Get to Decide” for yourself - define success then decide success!

In an attempt to not to be consumed with an overflowing plate of tasks and responsibilities, I took a moment to just frown, process, make a joke of it all, laugh, then jump back in. Sometimes life feels like sitting in hell with only a hand fan for cooling - only to find that the fan fuels the flames😂😂😂

I’m good though and grateful to have humor as a mechanism to put things into perspective. It’s okay to have a moment - as long as it only lasts but for a moment. The great thing is that I Get to Decide how and when that moment ends…

Don’t give credit to others for the direction of your life, nor place blame on them for where you land. The truth is, your choices drove you to where you are.
We often say, “I didn’t have a choice,” but the reality is this: we always have a choice.
One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned is that, no matter the situation or circumstance, I hold the power to decide how I respond. There were times when I didn’t feel like I had a choice, but as I grew older, I began to see how the decisions I made in the past shaped my present and altered the trajectory of my future.
Realizing that you are the navigator of your own journey is incredibly liberating. In every situation, with every person, and at every moment, “You Get to Decide.” These four simple words can shatter the chains of self-doubt, release a lifetime of limitations, and embolden you to take control of your life.
If you’ve never felt like you had permission to decide, consider this your moment. Start being intentional about your choices. You can make up your mind, change your mind, or even decide not to mind at all because… “You Get to Decide”!

Make TODAY better than Yesterday and strive for a better Tomorrow…

Think About These Stats:
If you live to be 80 years old, your life will span:
701,280 hours and
42,076,800 minutes

However, when you account for time spent attending school, working, and sleeping, you’re left with just over:
200,000 hours and
18,000,000 minutes
That’s the time that you fill in with the 3P’s - purpose, passion and procrastination around the first 2P’s.

Every single day, you face countless choices. Some seem trivial - what to eat, what to wear, whether to send that text to an old friend. Others feel life-altering - changing careers, moving to a new city, or entering or ending a relationship. But here’s the truth: every decision, no matter how big or small, has the potential to shape your life in profound ways. And the best part? “You Get to Decide”.

When you realize how precious, limited, and fragile your time is, the question becomes: How will you choose to spend it? Every choice you make either adds to or subtracts from the life you want to create.

Make a plan to be more intentional about your time. Start to question what you are withdrawing from the bank of your life span - keeping in mind that you never truly know the balance.

My road dog is better than yours😂
Gunnar is my true road dog (no shade or disrespect to my husband). Gunnar always wants to jump in the car and go wherever it is I’m going. It doesn’t matter what crazy idea I have that takes me to unknown places or going to the store around the corner, Gunnar is down for the ride.
If you don’t have a road dog that will travel to ends of the earth with you, you are missing out on one of life’s greatest pleasures. Whether there be two legs, four legs or no legs at all, go get you a road dog!
