Let's chat confidence 🔥 I believe that confidence comes in 2 forms; external + internal.
External confidence is the easier of the two where we define external practices that bring a FEELING of trust and belief in ourselves and what we're attempting to do. For example, your race day outfit, and pre-race routine. But, as we all know, this can easily be shaken by a forgotten favorite hat or dirty socks in the laundry.
Internal confidence and what I would define as true confidence is a KNOWING that we truly trust and believe in ourselves in all moments; the ones of glory and the ones in which we fail because we accept and love all parts of ourselves. This is where resilience is born ❤️
So how can we be more confident? Yes, create rituals that foster feelings of confidence. But, do the work of practicing self awareness, self acceptance, self compassion, and put it to action in doing hard things that scare you a little bit (or a lot!) 🤗
What brings you confidence in your training?! Let's hear it 👇

can't wait to chat confidence tonight on our group call and dig deep into this work this month! 🙏❤️

Yup, still in total vacation mode. Must be because of my afternoon pool spa sessions with my niece, Hannah, who sang Moana songs and massaged my hands and feet. Could vacation be any better?! So much sweetness with family 🥰❤️

Treated wmyself to lunch at my happy place today! 🤗It's been a very busy week (in the best way! Lots of teaching and run coaching) and even though I could've went home after my yoga class and "got more done" before school pickups, I gave myself this gift. There will always be so much to get done. Gave myself permission to pause it all and give myself what I needed- sunshine and the ocean. 🥰
Hope this post also gives you permission to do the same ❤️

Lower the bar. I learned this mental toughness strategy from and it's been HUGE for me.
Today, I had zero motivation to run. The only time I could get it in was at 3:45pm which is the WORST time to do anything productive, especially run. I had 5 miles scheduled at an easy pace and I felt blocked by it.
I decided to "lower the bar" instead of 5 miles could I just do 3 miles and take it from there? As I was driving to the Y and mentally prepping for the run, 3 miles even felt ehhhh. I decided to lower the bar again, just 2 miles. Just 2 miles.
That just 2 miles got me on the treadmill.
I pulled the steady and strong card running affirmation card, and off I went. I focused on my form, my breath, feeling in control of each stride and just appreciating that in that moment I was doing something so mentally hard. Once I reached 2 miles I could feel myself relax. I did it. Now let's just get to 3. After 3, I thought now I'm in the zone, I got this! I started to smile. I started to enjoy. I knew I could stay steady and strong for the final 2 miles. I got this! I wasn't singing and dancing and feeling super in the zone but I was doing the work and that's equally awesome!
I did it! And because I lowered the bar, I got the run in! 👏👏👏👏
This is the mental fitness ❤️ Lots to be proud of today 🙏

The process is progress! This was the running affirmation card I pulled before my long run this morning. It was the perfect reminder to let go of chasing the "perfect run" and to just do "the run"! This relaxed my body, mind, and breath from the start which set me up for feeling strong, steady, and in control. Loved the sunshine, smells of the ocean, hearing the birds chirp...it was magic. Just a really great run. So grateful I put the mental work in beforehand. Because of it, I was really able to really soak this run in and truly enjoy it! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
And, this was the longest I've ran since I think April 2022 🤔. Lots to be proud of today! 🎉

I pulled this running affirmation card before my run today and it couldn't have been more perfect. These words and guidance gave me permission to "just be", enjoy the miles, and connect with why I love this practice of running so much. Every time I felt forcing of "I should be" be running faster or "my body should feel this way with each stride", I repeated the mantra, Create SPACE! These words reminded me to connect to my form/body, to let my breath deepen, let my shoulders drop, to shift my gaze to beautiful sights around me, and to keep pressing each foot down into the earth to receive support and energy. This is where the magic is; connecting with the joy of the process and meeting you where YOU are in that moment🥰
