We’re Going to Talk About Dead People

The Fulton County Chapter, OGS will be hosting a work session on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Please note that this meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon rather than our normal meeting time of 7 p.m. One of our ongoing projects is to clip obituaries from the Fulton County newspapers. We will be sorting obituaries and mounting them in notebooks with an index. The notebooks will then be placed in our collection at the Evergreen Community Library so they can be used for researching family history.

Fulton County Genealogical Society meetings are held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 Taylor St., Delta. Parking and entry are on the back side of the church. This will be an informal working session. Even if you are not a member, but are interested in getting started, have questions, or are interested in history, you are welcome. If Delta School is cancelled for severe weather, our meeting may be cancelled. If the weather/roads are better in the afternoon, we will probably meet. Notification will be made by e-mail to members, announcement on our Chapter page, and on our individual pages.

I am looking for someone with family ties to George D. Turner. He married Joy Punches and had a daughter named Bonnie. They lived in the Oakshade area. I have some obituaries, funeral cards and other items that I would like to get to a proper home.
