Turns centuries old wood into musical Instruments. Old-growth heartpine, reclaimed from tobacco barns, plantation homes, mills or bridges built before 1900, gives us a level of quality unmatched by other drum builders. In their previous lives, this wood stood firm against wind and rain, endured the constant punishment of work boots, falling toys and family pets, and supported the machines that built America. There are stories in this wood, stories that deserve to be preserved. Outlaw Drums uses old time craftsmanship with modern tools to bring ancient wood back to life as stave and segment drums. We specialize in building showcase drums from 200-600 year old reclaimed wood from barns, gymnasiums, historical houses, decommissioned bridges, and fallen trees.

Built from a proprietary Solid Resin Composite shell, this 14”x7” delivers precision with authority. The shell is engineered for strength and sound-canceling control — giving you a sharp, focused attack, medium sustain, and a fast, clean release. No unwanted wash. No muddy overtones. Just clarity.

Finished in a Matte Satin Gray Distressed with Sparkle, it carries a modern edge that comes alive under stage lights — understated, but impossible to ignore.

Specs That Matter:
• 14” x 7” depth for punch and articulation
• 45° bearing edges with a vintage round over for balance and warmth
• Thick die-cast hoops across 10 lugs for rock-solid tuning
• Sonique NATO-1 throw off for smooth, reliable engagement
• 25-wire strainer for enhanced sensitivity and response

Every Sound Control Snare is handcrafted with presence and care. No assembly-line shortcuts. No compromise. Just intention in every detail.

This isn’t just about volume.
It’s about control.
It’s about feel.
It’s about sculpting your sound.

Outlaw Drums — crafted not just for sound, but for the soul.

Title: the Tongue & the Groove

Verse 1
Pulled from a wall in Poulan, Georgia
Tongue and groove, mahogany grain
Held up a room for forty years
Heard laughter, heard some pain

They stacked it up by in the back shed
Said, “We don’t need this anymore” ….

02/12/2026

We made a few of these a few years back! Still one of favorites in a higher tuning!
