Q&A with Kathy Wilson, Master Herbalist
Q: What got you into holistic healing?
A: I really started out with learning about herbs. My friend was taking the Vitalist course through Dr. Christopher's back in the 90s. She let me borrow her VCR tapes and learn from them. These taught me the effectiveness of herbs. I started seeking out people who could teach me. I went on my first herb walk then. This began a passion for natural healing that I have never since let go of.
Q: What kinds of things can holistic healing help with?
A: Oh, anything really! I have personally seen different holistic methods used to treat anything from anxiety and depression to pain and/or illness.
Q: What is the coolest thing you have seen in this line of work?
A: I have seen many cool things. I once used TBM to help someone with nausea that doctors were unable to help. Seeing an Iridologist led me to herbs that got rid of headaches I was having. I have used foot zoning to alleviate knee pain, and had kinergetics used on me to help with anxiety. I also once used a combination of TBM and kinergetics to help someone absorb iron who had previously needed to take medication in order to do so. I could go on and on, but these are the first that came to mind. Suffice it to say, I have seen enough to make a believer of me.
