• it creates safety without pressure
you don’t have to explain yourself when your hands are busy. connection happens sideways, not face-to-face.

• it builds belonging
making side by side reminds us we’re not alone in the process. no one is “ahead” or “behind”—we’re just here.

• it grounds us in the present moment
making pulls attention into the body. this is mindfulness that’s lived, not instructed.

• it softens hierarchy and perfectionism
when everyone is making, expertise matters less than presence. mistakes become part of the texture.

• it allows regulation to spread
calm is contagious. so is curiosity. so is gentleness.

at its core, making together is a form of care.

it says: you don’t have to be fixed or have the answers to belong here.

• bright, unmistakable presence (you enter a room)
• sharp honesty—no pretending, no filler
• wakes people up just by being nearby
• acidic enough to cleanse, healing enough to soothe
• often underestimated, yet essential in almost everything

i’m learning that i don’t exist to be sweet all the time.

i exist to clarify, cut through, and make things real.

my wish is for ALL beings, regardless of national origin, skin color, gender, sexual preference, weight, age, culture … any difference seen or unseen

i even want these things for people who disagree with me

no one is inherently good or bad - WE assign that label

it’s not just YOU or ME, THEY or THEM!
it’s US, right?

not to fix or optimize, but to befriend yourself.

mindful health reminds us that healing is not something we earn.

it’s something we practice, moment by moment.

in this space, you are supported to:
• notice what your body is asking for
• honor limits without guilt
• speak your truth with clarity and care
• reconnect with your inner steadiness
• trust yourself as a source of wisdom

this is not about becoming someone new or something better.

it’s about remembering what’s already here.

but because it helps us come home to ourselves

movement supports the nervous system
clears the mind
moves emotions
and builds trust with the body 🤍

whole health movement isn’t about pushing
it’s about listening

some days it’s breath and stillness

join Ray Kozloski, retired teacher, avid woodworker, and chair yoga enthusiast, to make your own KALIMBA

ray isn’t only my chair yoga cheerleader, but he was also a teacher at my high school!

ray sends me an encouraging text each week, sharing the benefits of my class for him.

this week’s note included,
‘lives are blessed because of you’

ray is famous for saying, ‘lotion is the motion’-
move however you can, as long as you can!

so, i’ll lead a 30 min chair yoga practice during this offering in honor of Ray and his love of mindful movement.
