To the Athletic Trainers who were able to travel with their teams to the State Championships at the Tacoma Dome, we know how much your teams appreciate having you there on the sidelines. Your care, preparation, and dedication help make these moments possible.

And to the Athletic Trainers who weren’t able to travel with their teams this year—your impact is still felt. Your athletes carried your care, guidance, and support with them as they competed and finished their season strong.

repost via from Advocacy is important! I have had the opportunity to serve the profession of athletic training at the State, District, and National level in various roles and committees. Currently I serve the Washington State Athletic Trainers’ Association as President, Northwest Athletic Trainers’ Association as Student Senate Co-Mentor and represent our district on the NATA ethics committee, and on the NATA State Association Advisory Committee as a representative to large states.

These opportunities have allowed me to give back to a profession that has given me so much joy. Each of these roles I have taken to make voices heard, educate individuals on the profession, push for the ability to work at the top of our scope of practice, and mentor future ATs. If you’ve ever had an inkling to jump into service but aren’t sure if it’s for you…you’ll never know until you try! There are so many ways to get involved and the profession cannot move forward without passionate volunteers.
