🎉 Who let the dogs out? 🦮🐩🐕‍🦺

Oklahoma 4-H’ers interested in the dog project are invited to join us for Dog Adventure Day on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Totusek Arena in Stillwater! This fun, educational event will feature a variety of live demonstrations, including agility, trick dog, rally, scent work, barn hunt, showmanship and more. 🐾

The cost is $15 per handler/dog, which includes three activities, with an option to add more for $5 each. Space is limited to 50 participants per activity, so early registration is encouraged. Vaccination forms are due by Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. Register now at okla.st/4h-dogday. 📋

Dog Adventure Day will take place following the 2025 Rally Dog Invitational. The top 25 dog and youth teams from our Virtual Rally Dog competitions are invited to compete. Courses for our third-quarter Virtual Rally Dog competition are open in ZSuite until Oct. 15. 🐶

Did you know these fun pumpkin facts? 👇

🥧 Pumpkin pie spice was invented in 1934 by McCormick.

🍯 Early Southern pumpkin pies were sweetened with molasses instead of sugar.

🎃 The Connecticut Field Pumpkin was grown before the Revolutionary War and is still carved today.

🍂 Colonists often baked pumpkins whole or stewed them — pie came much later.

🏆 The world’s heaviest pumpkin weighed over 2,700 pounds!

Oklahoma 4-H Dog Adventure Days: Fetch It testing. November 8. Registration is now open!

Dogs earn the FTN (Fetch Novice) title. Novice dogs must retrieve a tennis ball (or equivalent), retrieving bumper (also called a dummy) or a toy that has been thrown 30 ft.

The Novice course has 4 distractions. The dog goes between these to retrieve the ball. In Novice, the dog can see where the ball has been thrown.

The distractions are boxes, and the course may include one “fun” distraction such as a lawn chair or lawn ornament.

In Novice, the dog must do 3 single retrieves. In a single retrieve or “Single,” one ball is thrown the dog is given the cue by the handler (e.g., “Fetch it!”), then the dog retrieves and brings the ball to the handler.
