I am excited to share that my chapter, "Offender Rehabilitation as a Contemporary Issue," from my first published SpringerBrief Book, has been cited in a newly released study titled "The Influence of Religious-based Programmes on Recidivism of Women Offenders in Kenyan Prisons." This important research, authored by Patrick Lumumba Aghan, Otieno Marygorety Akinyi, and Anne Achieng Assey, is featured in the Impact: Journal of Transformation (Volume 8, Issue 1, pages 22-47, 2025).

The citation of my chapter in this new study underscores the relevance of my scholarly work in shaping discussions on offender rehabilitation on a global scale and influencing policies and practices tailored to the needs of marginalized populations, such as women offenders in Kenyan prisons. I believe that offender rehabilitation is not just a national concern but a global imperative, and I continue to be committed to contributing to a more informed dialogue on best practices that can transcend borders, promoting restorative justice, reducing recidivism, and ultimately supporting the reintegration of offenders into society.

I am excited to share the latest citation alert for Chapter 6 - “Offender Rehabilitation as a Contemporary Issue” in my first Springer Brief Book, "Understanding Offending Populations and the Power of Correctional Psychotherapy."

This chapter has been cited in the thought-provoking article "Bridging Mental Health and National Security: The Transformative Impact of Psychiatric Nursing on Public Safety," published in the International Journal of Pharma Growth Research Review.

🌟 I am beyond thrilled to share some incredible news! 🌟

The Saturday before my 43rd Birthday (Feb. 22, 2025), I received an email from a faculty member of the Criminal Justice Department at Seton Hill University, informing me that my third published Springer book, "Exploring Trauma among Offending Populations: In Pursuit of Healing and Justice," was being considered for adoption in their newly developed Trauma Informed Care Certificate program curriculum.

After her review and a brief interaction with my publisher, I am honored to announce that my book has OFFICIALLY been ADOPTED by the Seton Hill University Criminal Justice Department!

Words cannot express how humbled I am by this recognition. It’s a true privilege to contribute to the education of those who will shape the future of trauma-informed practices in the field.

Thank you to all who have been part of this journey! A special shout-out to my Sis .pulchritude (Dr. Letitia Browne-James) who has consistently encouraged me to share my knowledge with the world!!!! 📚💖

🌍✨ I am excited to announce that my scholarly work has once again made its way into the Indonesian language! This time, my thoughts have been referenced in the Jurnal de Jour, a significant periodical Scientific Journal published by the University of Balikpapan Faculty of Law. This journal serves as a platform for legal scientists, practitioners, and observers to share ideas and critical thinking aimed at the advancement of law in Indonesia. 📚🇮🇩

My chapter, "Policy Reform: Rethinking Criminal Justice," from my 2nd Springer publication, "Revolutionizing Justice in the Pipeline Era: Breaking the Chains," has been cited. I'm particularly honored that my words were translated to convey:

"Justice enforced by the judicial system not only reflects the integrity of the law, but also has a direct impact on people's lives" (Sapp, 2024).

It brings me great joy to see my ideas transcend professions, countries, and languages!

I am so appreciative of everyone who continues to support the journey of knowledge and justice!

🌟 Last evening, I had the privilege of being a guest speaker at Commonwealth University - Lock Haven Campus CMHC Program's Culture Collective! I presented "Restoring Balance: The Crucial Link Between Mental Health and Justice."

During the session, we delved deep into the critical relationship between mental health and the justice system. I shared insights from my work in Offender Rehabilitation and Correctional Mental Health, highlighting the pressing need for comprehensive mental health support as a key component of rehabilitation. It was inspiring to engage with such an enthusiastic audience, exchanging ideas on how we can create more effective system for those affected by the justice process.

I’m passionate about advocating for wellness in all aspects of society and love connecting with others who share that commitment. I’m currently open to booking future speaking engagements and would be thrilled to collaborate on events, workshops, or seminars that address these vital issues. 🌟 It feels like just yesterday that I introduced yoga to my grandbabies in 2022, and I’m so thrilled to see how much they’ve grown! 🧘‍♀️💖 They are always eager to practice and have even started finding YouTube videos to do yoga when I’m not around!

Happy Friday!

As we wind down the week, it’s time to reflect, relax, and recharge for the weekend ahead.

✨ Today’s Practice: Hands on Heart for Inner Calm: A Heart-Centered Gesture 💖

Have you ever tried placing your hands on your chest? This simple gesture can be a powerful way to cultivate peace and relaxation. Here’s how it works:

1. Ground Yourself: Find a comfortable position, whether sitting or standing. Close your eyes for a moment and take a deep breath in.

2. Connect Physically: Gently place your hands on your chest, feeling the rise and fall of each breath. This connection with your body can help ground you in the present moment.

3. Tune In: As you breathe deeply, think about what you’re feeling right now. Acknowledge any stress or tension and invite a sense of calm to wash over you.

4. Affirm Peace: With each breath, repeat a positive affirmation silently or aloud — "I am safe, I am calm, I am at peace." Feel the warmth of your hands as you cultivate a sense of tranquility.

💚 Daily Challenge: Let’s spread this calming energy! Share a photo of yourself practicing this heart-centered gesture. Share how it makes you feel and what you do to find peace in your day.

As we head into the weekend, remember that taking a moment for yourself can transform your entire day. You deserve it!

🌍💚 Today, on World Mental Health Day, we’re shining a light on the vital importance of Prioritizing Workplace Mental Health!

A healthy work environment is essential for everyone’s well-being. Here are some simple yet effective workplace wellness tips to help foster a supportive culture:

1. Open Communication: Let’s create a space where everyone feels safe to share their thoughts and feelings. Open dialogue can break the stigma surrounding mental health.

2. Take Breaks: Remember to step away and recharge! Short breaks can boost productivity and mental clarity.

3. Practice Mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness exercises into your routine—whether it’s deep breathing, meditation, or simply taking a moment to pause.

4. Stay Active: Physical activity is vital for mental health. Consider group walks or stretching sessions to get moving together.

5. Support Each Other: Check in with your colleagues—kind words and listening ears can go a long way in creating a supportive environment.

6. Know When to Seek Help: Don’t hesitate to reach out for support when needed. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help!

Together, let's begin to cultivate a workplace where everyone thrives mentally and emotionally. Let’s prioritize mental health today and every day! 💪🧠

I am pleased to announce that my scholarly work, "Offender Rehabilitation as a Contemporary Issue," has recently been cited for the fourth time! This latest citation comes from a Professor and a PhD Scholar at the University of Peshawar's (Pakistan) Department of Sociology, focusesing on the reintegration of individuals with recurring criminal behavior.

It is gratifying to see my research contributing to important discussions in the field, particularly regarding effective rehabilitation practices and the reintegration of offenders into society. I am excited about the potential impact of the collective work in understanding and addressing the challenges faced by individuals in the criminal justice system.
