When life gets stressful, yoga is there to help you connect back to your center. It invites you to show up as you are.

Winter reminds us of the importance of reflection and inner work. Join us tomorrow 1/19 for flow with a focus on relieving tightness of the hip flexors. The hip flexors run deep and often become tight with modern life. Focus on Sama Vritti pranayama (equal breath) will guide the practice.

Maybe it’s the weather. Maybe it’s post holidays but I’m really craving the greens lately.

Kale is detoxifying, great for digestion and even cleansing for the blood. Ayurveda tells us to cook it and add warming spices and healthy fat when enjoying it during the winter season.

I chopped and sautéed the kale greens in olive oil, fresh garlic and seasoned with my favorite Herby Blend seasoning which includes some red pepper flakes. During winter (a cold, dry, sharp) season Ayurveda recommends cooked vegetables, warming spices and primarily root vegetables. Chickpeas add some fiber and balance out my cozy Friday dinner.

Yoga is the journey to the self. Slowing and becoming aware of the breath, quieting the busyness of the mind, moving the body. Connecting with peace.

Join us for chair yoga and slow flow yoga classes this year. Come as you are. You don’t even need to be flexible ~ no one checks! Wear what you want~you don’t need fancy clothes. If you don’t have a mat I have one you can borrow.

Life is stressful but you don’t have to do it alone. Find your new best friend on the mat beside you.

January focus is pranayama ~breath work. Let’s explore!
