I love a cup of something warm as I start my day, & what I grab for depends on how I’m feeling. On days when I’ve had less sleep and am dragging more I opt for coffee. When I’m looking for increased focus without the jittery, rushed feeling I’ll make some tea. ☕️🫖
Each caffeinated drink has similar yet unique benefits as well as its own considerations. Read on to learn more ⬇️
🤎Coffee: Reduces fatigue by increasing dopamine levels in the brain.
💚Tea: Contains l-theanine which stimulates your brains alpha waves promoting calm & reducing anxiety.
🤎Coffee: Acts as a diuretic which is good for moving fluid through the body with potential dehydration if you’re not drinking water simultaneously.
💚Tea: Naturally more hydrating than plain water.
🤎Coffee: Polyphenols include flavonoids & choleric acid which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-diabetes and antihypertensive properties.
💚Tea: Polyphenols include theaflavins, thearubiguns and catechins which have antioxidant, antiviral, antimutagenic, anticarcinogenic and antiobesity properties.
Coffee has the highest caffeine content, which means it has more antioxidants and polyphenols. Tea is lower in caffeine which allows individuals with high anxiety to enjoy the mental boost without the often accompanied ramped-up nervous system and drained adrenals from overconsumption of caffeine. 🍵
