🤸🏻‍♀️Sensory seekers (ya know the ones.... who are always moving, climbing, fidgeting and/or sitting in unique ways) may get labeled as the kids who are "too much" OR we could teach them about their brain, how it's designed to move to learn and ways to support it.

🙋🏻‍♀️Want to know how to support a sensory seeker?

✅ Follow along here or join our next Simplifying Sensory class on Tuesday January 6th from 10-11am at The Little Lounge!

Parents, teachers, and therapists- If you’re struggling with challenging behaviors (hitting, kicking, spitting, cursing, avoidance, or disruptive habits) and assuming it’s because the child is being manipulative, we have some bad news for you. 🫠

Their challenging behavior is likely going to continue.

✅ When we approach big behaviors from curiosity, connection and collaboration from a nervous system based lens, the behaviors will change.💡

Want to know how? Follow or join our Parenting Classes!

📍Our next class is Tuesday 12/16 from 10-11am called Simplifying Sensory The Little Lounge

✅ We break down sensory habits that look like defiance and how to support their emotional regulation needs while supporting your own. 🧠

Stay tuned! These classes will be digital and accessible to you 24/7 in 2026! 🤩

We are taking a moment to pause & play today!

Happy Birthday Vanessa! 🥳

A note from Vanessa about her birthday:

I’m taking a moment to celebrate today, because today is my birthday! 🎉

🔥With each year, I reflect on my truths. This year, here they are:

1. Time, health & mindset are gifts.

2. Most everything that feels like a problem is figure-out-able.

3. Gratitude + curiosity + kindness are ingredients to help with 1 and 2.

4. The Universe has my back ...and yours, if you let it!

5. Learning the skill of discernment and how to trust your intuition even though others try to tell you you're wrong is a gift. Refine it and you'll be successful at whatever success means to you.

🎂Fun fact: Did you know when I was a kid I hated birthdays? Still not fond of them. It's actually not because "I'm getting older" like most people think.

✅ Age is just a number.
✅ Mostly sensory, social, and anxiety related.
✅ But l've always been grateful for the wisdom age brought. And I always find a way to treat myself and honor how far l've come.

💕We are blessed and grateful for the families and moms we work with. The holidays are a time of chaos from all of our mixed sensory needs & emotions, yes, but also an outpouring of gratitude. 🫶

We see the love, time and energy you pour into your families. The invisible effort that you think no one see.

You’re the heartbeat of why we do this work.

Thank you for trusting us. 🙏🏻

As DEN grows, so does our gratitude for your trust, your honesty, your humor, your resilience, & the way you show up for your family even on the days your own nervous system is running on fumes. 💫

We are grateful for our health (we’ve both had some obstacles this year!), our DEN team of incredible moms of neurospicy families, and for ✨YOU✨

👉🏼 The moms who keep choosing connection, curiosity, and compassion in a world that often asks too much of you. 👈🏼

Thank you for letting us be a small part of your village as we continue building a space that supports neurodivergent families across the globe. 🌎

5 Thanksgiving Reminders for Neurodivergent Families 🧡

1. It's Okay if your holidays look different.

2. You are allowed to choose the version of the holidays that support your family's nervous system.

3. Sensory needs are real. Leave early, say no, and modify things. It's not rude, it's self advocacy and support for regulating nervous systems.

4. Talk to your kid about strategies for sensory overwhelm & big emotions before they get into the overwhelming environment. When kids know what to expect from their emotions or are cued before the more stressful moments, you create more opportunities for a pause when impulse control feels impossible.

5. Learn what your kids signs of sensory system overwhelm are. * PRO TIP: it's *super* helpful to learn your own sensory triggers and soothers as well!

6. (Bonus Pro Tip) Transitions are hard for neurodivergent individuals. There are far more transitions in holiday days than the untrained eye notices.

💫 Curiosity & compassion in transitions can transform struggle into success. 🙌🏼
